  • These are children's books, not "advanced sexual theory", whatever the fuck that is. Learning about LGBTQ+ people is not inherently sexual. If it is, then any book showing any relationship, LGBTQ+ or cishet, is "advanced sexual theory". LGBTQ+ people exist that way from birth just like cishet people do. The sooner children realize that what they are is not unusual and not "wrong", the less emotional and psychological trauma they will face.

  • Fuck off with your toxic individualism. We exist as communities and as such all must shoulder some of the burdens of a limited number for the community good. Those who are more able to shoulder that burden should do so.

  • This isn't even a new problem. I used to work in an office with a lot of women back in 2006. One decided to have a kid and after she and her husband did the math, it was more economical for her to quit to take care of the child than for her to keep working. Other women had to have family members provide childcare so they could get by because without their salary they'd be screwed or they were single mothers.

  • You could finagle it in Google Calendar. It's a bit of a hack, but it'll work. You basically need to set up 3 events to cover the time frame since you're limited to 6 notifications(5 early + 1 at time). Then set those to repeat indefinitely.

So you'd set the first for 11 am with notifications starting at 5 hours earlier. Next would be 5 pm. Final would be at 9 pm.

It's a kludge, but it gets the job done.

  • After the decades of one child sexual abuse case after the other coming out and time and again finding out higher ups in the church knew about this but just kept hiding it, are we really at all surprised? That level of corruption originates from the top down, not bottom up.
