What are the common attributes between each app that allows them to be federated with each other? Users, a post with multimedia support (images, links, maybe videos), a comment thread, and what else? Can an app deviate completely from this user/post/comment model and still be federated? Do each app need to manually integrate with another app to be considered federated or is any app using ActivityPub automatically integrated to your app?
Republican voters are a different breed. Even with enough evidence to prove Russia was interfering with the 2016 election, Democrats still mostly accepted the win. With even less evidence of any fraud in the 2020 election, the majority of Republicans deny Biden's legitimacy.
I don't understand how they think this will stop immigrants crossing the border. They were already willing to deal with predatory coyotes, miles of scorching deserts, border control officers, and whatever variety of wildlife they encounter along the way, to reach the US. All in order to escape the hellhole situation they were in. These barbed wires and asshole "tactics" like dumping water onto the ground won't stop them from attempting, and all it does is add additional cruelty and death to the situation.
I am for border control, but we need to do it in a smarter way and also fix the asylum process for these kinds of situations.
I felt the same way, but it's mostly due to lemmy's still premature sorting algorithm. Sorting by New, Top Hour, or Top Six changed my experience drastically. There's still issues like posts having not enough involvement through comments, and duplicate posts from similar communities, but overall it's much better after about a month in.
To be fair, it IS a porn instance. I think I would rather blame the sorting algorithms of lemmy that allows popular communities, including memes, to spam the All page due to the sheer number of posts and hides smaller ones.
