Too much treachery. Maybe if they stopped assassinating their rulers and managed their funds better by continuing to properly fund their military and continuing to pay off the tribes they could've lasted a bit longer.

It's so wild that they survived the Year of the 4 (and 5 and 6) Emperors when you think about it. The entire empire nearly collapses in the third century and what do they do to the man responsible for restoring it? They assassinate him. Or if it's not the emperor then it's the head of the military who had been responsible for holding off multiple tribes, negotiating with them and attempting to keep the city of Rome from being ransacked (unsuccessfully). And then you assassinate the emperor responsible and then the new emperor decides to provoke the biggest tribe of them all.

Well, well, well if it isn't the consequences of my own actions.

Just be skeptical about it from both perspectives.

Bad actors do exist but they're not to blame for everything despite almost any organization or movement these days attempting to scapegoat any poor publicity they experience as bad actors.

Unfortunately this is possible.

I think it's for the better that companies are having these blunders though. It'll generate some amount of pushback and keep AI from taking over workplaces.

Why can't people dislike and vote against Trump while also wanting to hold Biden accountable for his words/actions?

I see such a large majority of people who vote Dem/have blue/left values on here and I seriously doubt posts like these are going to change their minds. People just want to vent their frustrations with what many consider the only option they have.

I see. I simply ask because the platform has changed a lot if you used it a little over a decade ago and I know some people who never got over the transition.

Absolutely understandable that you don't want to spend time looking for anything that might catch your interest though.

Its literally the lowest form of entertainment and its not worth a single moment of ad watching.

I think the platform has come a long ways when it comes to content. Sure, if you're just watching gaming content I'd say you'd be disappointed. It's been like that for a decade now at least. There's a lot of decent content on there though with a lot of it even being somewhat educational.

The current political climate in this country can't last into the long-term future. I dislike the idea of conflict but many of the current right's ideals simply cannot coexist with those outside of their cult. The right has also been more aggressive about dismantling the country in several areas as a means of takeover. They really do see this as a battle or a war.

Going into any passionate community and dissenting for the purpose of dissenting is outright flamebait and nothing more.

If this was law, and companies had to divulge how there stuff worked and was assembled, as well as sell parts, things would last longer.

I'm all for it but I think you're being a bit too optimistic. If we had the right to repair then the prices of repair kits and materials is going to go up most likely. I can think of a few other ways they can make that system obnoxious too.

It's like everything else. Yeah, the general systems in place could be greatly improved but ultimately the majority of the issues lie with the people at the top who refuse to let us have good things. No matter what laws are passed they will find a way to profit at any cost. The shareholders behind massive corporations are the first priority because no solution we create will work as efficiently as it can unless they are out of the picture.

They could have potentially run DeSantis, he just lacked the party's backing. While he's basically a younger, less orangey Trump for the most part, the fact that he's a lot younger would have probably won a lot of people over. It wouldn't change the GOP from being the MAGA party or change their current values or the general situation with the election though.

We should be grateful that Trump is rather incompetent. He's torn up the GOP as he can't allow anyone to overtake him in the hierarchy he's created. His own ego ensures that any competent ideas that could push his agenda forward are thrown out.

If someone is misinformed then you educate and correct them, not mock them. Especially when the person in question is clearly open minded and willing to learn.

Reddit could always be aggressive, and if you search up the OP it looks like they went into a passionate community and stirred it up.

They didn't deserve this level of vitriol or the lack of elucidation though. That's definitely gotten worse over time. Part of why I left was how aggressively immature it had become, to the point where you couldn't have normal conversations there anymore.

I don't think it's bad for people to be somewhat suspicious of bots/misinformation campaigns that occur online. We do know they occur.

That said, I believe we should still try to communicate on the various media platforms in the event that there is in fact a human behind the screen.

How long have you been using it?

I've been using it for years. About six months ago or somewhere around that, YouTube started a small campaign against adblockers though. In that campaign, they actually forced Vanced to rebrand to Revanced due to a lawsuit. It was in this time that through the campaign more people became aware of adblockers.

This actually sucked for users like me. The amount of times I'd have to repatch Revanced due to the constant updates was awful. It's more stable now, but if this ever happens again it will be annoying.

If people bring attention back to adblockers, then it will be like this again. Sites will be threatening legal action and restructuring themselves to break adblockers, while adblockers will have to constantly update in order to stay functional.

We should be more grateful for these people. Our adblockers function because they don't bother using them.

The moment that most of society starts using adblockers is the moment they become defunct when the big corporations begin actively fighting them. I've already witnessed this with YouTube Vanced/Revanced.

Even if you could get away with it, it's only a matter of time before some vigilante decides that they too like the cops are the law and starts abusing people.

Wasn't aware of that. My thoughts were more towards the EV1, although I assume there were many others before that.
