My brother adopted a stray dog. She is super thankful for everything. And if the front door is open, she may get outside but will beg to come inside afterwards. She knows how it works out there.
If you collapsed probably there were lots of bad stuff accumulated over your working time, but yeah, I get that. I had a job that made me life miserable (billing department over phone), but I was afraid to quit because, you know, we have to sustain ourselves. Everything will be alright, but you'll have to start looking for something soon, lol.
Valid point. But, there are many reasons people are funny and like funny things. Sometimes I get the feel that I am laughing at something just to forget the harshness in life. Bo Burnham in "What's Funny" explains it better:
"Humor is often linked to shared experience
Like, a guy gets up and says
"Have you noticed that public restrooms have really inefficient hand-dryers?"
Oh, my god! Yes, I have!
Ha-ha-ha, really good point
They should fix that...
It's good to know that somebody finally gets me
Because my wife divorced me, which subconsciously forced me
To lose all sense of self
So, it's nice to think about hand-dryers and not that cheating whore"
Take care of yourself my dude. Definitely not worth it, always reach for help and you'll be surprised that people actually care! Also, therapy and probably meds, if you aren't doing it already.
Agreed about the less people makes it more comfy. The whole instance is your community too, I guess being able to choose what you want from a instance makes everyone more comfortable. You don't get overflown with people with different objectives when it comes to browsing Lemmy.
Would be better if you just started calling him she, they or it. You would probably be fired, but he would get the message. mostly wouldn't you never know with them people
It's the Freudian question. What every psychology treatment, let it be behavior, psychoanalysis, humanist... comes to: Can you talk about your childhood/parents? It's not an invalid question, but not a responsible thing for an actual adult to do, make your parents totally responsible for your actions past adulthood.
Yeah. But, I always try to be polite and treat delivery workers politely as possible. People are so rude that even "good morning. How are you doing?" Is stuff that none ask them.
Studied about it this week! This meme is the reality that men take longer to really give space to their child. While women have to do it since conception, specially after birth. This according to 90s and early 2000s psychoanalysis. Since then, men are taking their responsibilities in parenthood. Nice meme as always, king.
I missed a job opportunity because in my CV I was 24yo, in the interview I said I was 26yo, then corrected myself and realized I haven't had my birthday this year.
I bought a new laptop, and it was lagging more than my old PC. I was enraged by this fact. My old pc had 4gb RAM, my laptop would freeze playing games like osu. Yeah, 8gb was the limit in 2016, but not like to get random freezes. I installed Ubuntu and then never went back, now using Arch. Performance. No random things going under my nose, making spikes happen. Now, it's not about performance alone. It's about control and privacy. I study psychology and I wish my peers realized what it means using Meta services everyday, Microsoft, etc, and how these are connected with our everyday life, decisions and lack of control, thus worth to get the psychology field to debate and put the everyday services under discussion.
In Brazil, Bolsonaro election was literally this. The left was more interested in making articles about him than about itself. Turns out, he ended up winning. Any publicity is publicity. Second elections were different, the left focused on itself while Bolsonaro was losing allies and getting bad publicity made by his own campaign management, his own narrative and actions. Showing that the other side is bad doesn't show an alternative to it, just get them visibility.
I remembered Mr Omar from Everybody Hates Chris trying to get the mayor that wouldn't care for safety elected so his funeral business gets more, well, dead people.
Yeah. But ngl, my family is pretty big and between my 6 cousins, I am the only one that tries to understand computer and how things work. They just use internet for gaming and social media, don't even care to see why their wifi is slow and just blame the ISP. Fixing is my only utility to my family, but I'll take it.
