I just searched this up and saw that Google Pixel 6 and later phones will get updates for at least 5 years from when the device first became available on the Google Store in the US, including security, software, and may also include feature drops but I hope more people respond to your question with more brands and models.

Kind poster, I understood about 4% of what you wrote and absorbed 2% (entirely not your fault). Would you say that this explains why Google only supports their Chromebooks for 5 years?

ETA: My question is based on what you wrote here:

Linux has LTS releases that are supported for 6 years. They release a new LTS every year. Each year, Google selects the latest LTS and builds the latest Android version against that release. They can add to the KMI when this happens, but it is frozen for that kernel version from then on. From there, they keep building Android against that kernel version until it is no longer supported.

Season 1 was charming but it becomes an excellent show when Chris Traeger and Ben Wyatt show up. It starts running on all cylinders. (It's one of my favorite shows.)

Breaking Bad was so depressing. I couldn't binge it - my husband and I could only do an episode at a time once every few days, with sitcoms immediately after or in between. We finished it and it was truly well done and deserves all its praise, but it was a slog just because of how dark it was.

You're definitely entitled to your opinion. But I found the initial run of Arrested Development to be one of the best written sitcoms ever. Also, part of the point is that the main protagonist and his son are good people who stay and support their terrible family members out of loyalty.

I hear what you're saying - that he might have had at best superficial interactions with people. But, stull, I don't know anyone who's had interactions with someone from every country in the world. I'd imagine that gives him the unique perspective (not saying that he would be an expert in any of the cultures he encountered). Also, I'd like to hear more of the details of how it was to travel to such-and-such place - the logistical issues, as you mentioned.

I'm glad to see he's involved with a documentary. Hopefully it's all about this journey. I'd imagine he has a very unique perspective on people all around the world and all of the different cultures if the world, and id love to hear more about it (the article at the end gives some views but I'm sure he has many more things to say).

I agree with you. I'll also add that if you are a poor Black woman in California, New York, Massachusetts, and a number of other states you will may have access to great public schools, where you can be guided into (public or private) college and grad school and programs for certification where you can actually claw your way into the Middle Class. It really depends on where you grow up in the US.

We got Disney + for our kids and they couldn't care less. The only thing they were interested in was The Mandolorian (bored after the first season) and the latest live action Spiderman (which was not available in Disney+ !!!). I think this is a bit regional. "Guys" sounds entirely gender neutral to my ear while "dudes" or "bro" sound specifically about men. But I know that "dude" and "bro" are used to refer to either women or men in other locations and "guys" is interpreted as being also referring to men there. I don't think there is an absolute with these particular terms.

I admire Nick Cave a lot and value his opinion as a songwriter. He's absolutely right in calling it the "boundless machine of artistic demoralisation." What's more demoralizing than know ChatGBT could churn out a facsimile of your work, making a mockery of your artistic struggles and obsessions? All you have to do is listen to Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds (my fave album is Tender Prey) to see that he was exorcising something deeply personal and a little perverse, and that's one of the things that makes his music art and not just a digital token.

Create a playlist of your favorite songs by genre. It would provide enough variety but still be cohesive enough not to distract you. Or rely on a streaming apps algorithm.

I don't know about taxes in Kentucky but I'm assuming people in the state want to pay as little in taxes as possible. This is the result. How will they pay bus drivers higher salaries to attract them and hire more drivers without raising revenue via higher taxes? I'm going to make a wild guess that teacher and school staff pay is also terrible in Kentucky.

Also, the articles mention that school staff is waiting with the kids. So they are out at the bus stops till 930pm? Are they getting paid overtime for this? Do they have children of their own?
