  • I used to think I'd move if old.reddit died, but I migrated here much sooner when the whole API debacle happened, and I don't know if many people who still care are still in there.

  • Yeah, and it sucks because of that. The amount of misinformation, propaganda and fake news that has been circulated through Whatsapp on the previous 4 years was astounding and almost ruined the country permanently.

  • Literally never heard of it. Also, yeah, when I see Paradox I can only think of their terrible DLC practices, which turn me away from most of their games.... except the ones made by Harebrained Schemes, Battletech was great. Guess there won't be a sequel.

  • Oh my gods, I thought we were going to have to wait another year for the PC version after the PS5 one released. I am now VERY hyped for this release! EDF!!

  • The PSP and Vita servers were already down for a while, but you could still play at least 4U and Generations online. I think you still can right now. But yes there are community servers and you can play online on Citra!

  • This is why I always favor games and gamemodes you can still play offline or locally than online ones.
Still, pour one out for my old, 850h savefile on MH4U, I had so many great times with that game.

  • Gaben isn't going to last forever. But honestly the only other good games storefront is GoG. I'll continue using Steam for as long as it's still good.

  • Why, it was THEIR idea in the first place.

  • Aww man, they can't pull Lawson out of the car when he's performing this good. He even finished ahead of Perez last race! At least let him race Suzuka, he's already experienced in that track from his Super Formula races.

  • Since I have to use wireless, I did find myself a pair of those for my new phone. Still waiting for them to ship, though. Over the ear hooks are pretty nice, I used to really like them years ago when they were more common, before the damn rubber in-ears.

  • I just got a new phone that doesn't have it, and I very strongly miss it. I hate having to charge wireless devices. Everything that I can, I get wired.

Doesn't help much that lately it's been getting harder and harder to find good compact wired earphones, most companies pivoted to wireless... And of those that I find, most are the in-ear type with that rubber tip you squeeze deep into your ear... I also don't like that. Guess I'll have to move to over-ears for everything.

  • This is how we know they really nailed it on AC6, this is exactly the experience. Well, whenever I didn't say FUCK IT, and equipped dual Zimmermans and the stun nail launcher.

  • I like almost everything on this plan, except for the last 2 items. The account requirements for "extra activities" best be chosen carefully as to not encourage the good old "karma farming" that we got away from in leaving Reddit.
And the ML thing for recognizing NSFW is also something to be carefully considered. Too strict and it gets annoying with false positives, it can restrict posting actual content, and too lax won't make a difference for the people actually looking to circumvent it. I think a "vetting" system like the previous item could be better in the long run, in only letting "trusted" people upload content.

  • As an AC veteran greatly enjoying the new game after many years waiting, I feel vindicated.

And don't worry about sucking at this game! Even I had to spend 6 hours fighting Balteus to finally defeat it. Stick with the game, try different builds until something works for you.

  • I'm not switching to KB+M but I am switching to Type B controls after struggling against Balteus for 6 hours today. My hands actually hurt from how hard I was gripping the controller, lol.

Dual wielding was basically the only way to play in late Gen 3 as the games got harder and harder, and the enemy ACs started coming more and more decked out (or in the case of Last Raven, straight up cheating) and is what I'm most used to. First thing I did in 6 was to put on dual rifles. But now after trying out other builds I put a sword back on, they're really fun and VERY strong in this game.

  • Oh I played AC2 emulated a while back, but just needed to remap the turning buttons to the shoulders and I was good with the oldgen layout. At least until Silent Line when I needed to dual wield. But hey, I defeated all versions of old Nineball with those, so I'm happy!

  • I didn't say it in this thread, but since you mentioned it I'll concur: yeah after a tiny bit of remapping the shoulder buttons and d-pad, I actually got really into the old controls, and other than dual wielding, I actually preferred them over the later 3rd gen style. But both were usable. yeah I'm playing AC6 right now and I'm twisting my right hand into a knot operating the stick and the face buttons at the same time, but this is a kind of problem that every japanese mech game has... Gundam Battle Operation 2, EDF, the 4th and 5th gen of AC too. At this point I'm just used to it.

  • Honestly the PS1 and PS2 games emulate pretty well on Duckstation and the Nightly builds of PCSX2 (except for AC2, that needs the Stable)
You'll just need to get used to the clunky tank controls.

  • From what I understand in the trailer, Imogen's fleet is being sent out after Karan, which implies they've been still out there until just recently. So Imogen has just been put on the position of Fleet Command, and still clings to her more uh, "human" emotions.
