Meanwhile the billionaires convinced the voters that democrats were responsible for inflation and spun “tax increases for billionaires” into “tax increases for everyone”.
And polls show that voters were most motivated by inflation.
First of all, it is hard to beat career politicians.
This counters what Bernie said.
Second, you're in Nebraska.
I’m not in Nebraska. Just giving one of many examples of politicians that support the working class losing because of the billionaire class.
Third, and most importantly, the goal is not for a single person to win, but to build a strong organization that will make people's lives better, and that would over time get more people to vote, because they would understand that it matters.
Scapegoating the democrats that tried to tax the billionaire class prevents this from happening.
But if you think they're the wave of the future, hey, do whatever you like.
I don’t think they’re the wave of the future. I think the billionaire class countered Harris because they didn’t want to be taxed like she laid out in her plans and now people are trying to scapegoat them, ensuring it will be less likely that the next person will try it again. Just like the billionaire class wants.
Many who voted democrat in 2020 voted republican in 2024 because the billionaire class convinced them democrats caused inflation when democrats said they would tax billionaires.
Their stated justification for their actions were "to avoid appearing political".
They stated this and treaded lightly because this is literally how Trump has gotten away with everything. By claiming any consequences against him are because of a political witch hunt.
And half the country has supported his rejection of reality.
If facts are ignored by claiming they are politically motivate then it isn’t as easy as you are making it out to be. But anyone that has been paying attention can see that.
You are scapegoating the people trying to stop Trump.
It seems to me that she had a hard fight to win by saying she would tax billionaire their fair share. I’m sure they were all working together to pull strings against her.
Biden was calling out price gouging throughout his whole presidency.
Harris lost this election because she said she was going to tax the billionaires and so they funded the campaign against her.
For you to throw her under the bus after the billionaires campaigned against her is just going to ensure no future politicians will challenge the billionaire class again.
I agree. Which is why I don’t believe the narrative that Harris lost because she didn’t go far enough left. Even though I wish our politicians would. I think too many voters don’t feel the same way.
If it were that simple why didn’t they just do it? Do you think they were conspiring to help Trump? Or do you think they were lazy?
Or is it the same situation it has been every single time Trump commits a crime and gets away with it, where he has weaponized his base to avoid consequences?
The latter is the obvious answer imo and even the FBI can’t stop the man with the Supreme Court on his side. Scapegoating the FBI seems odd here.
If it were that simple why didn’t they do it? Do you think they were conspiring to help Trump? Do you really think they just said “I don’t want to do that today, let’s put it off for another time”?
I think if it were that simple they would’ve done it. But Trump has been able to avoid consequences for everything he has done so obviously it is not that simple to prosecute him.
I dont know why it is so hard for you to see that.
If the problem was that democrats did not support the working class enough then why didn’t the union leader win? This isn’t magic or rocket science. Many people thought democrats were responsible for the high inflation because they don’t know macro economics.
