I GASed hard for a M8 for a while, but importing one to Korea ended up being hard to justify the cost. Glad TE released the EP-133 recently. I jumped on that and got one just before they sold out.

Yes, but not that often. The only thing actually going through the machine is water, so it takes a long time to get dirty at all unless you're dumping bad water in it or not wiping off the group head after use. We did have to replace the group gasket once, which was a $2 piece of rubber I could easily put on myself.

Not for everyone obviously, but I developed a synthesizer habit some years ago, and right now is probably the best time ever for a beginner to get into it. Korg's Volca series, Roland's Aira compact, teenage engineering's Pocket Operators, Arturia's Microfreak, and Elektron's Model series are all affordable and a great way for a beginner to start making some cool-ass music. Beware developing a habit though. It only stays affordable so long.

They're expensive because a good one lasts forever. We've had our Gaggia Classic for over ten years now and it daily chugs out coffee like the day we bought it.

I don't know how hidden it is because most people into making electronic music at all know about it, but Koala sampler is a fantastic value at $5 for an intuitive and fun way to make some silly loops.

My favorite part of the satanic panic was when sometime in the eighties, our local preacher dropped by our house (we were not church goers) and saw a mangled, black candle on our kitchen table. We'd had a power outage recently, and Internet-less, kid-me loved to heat up paper clips over the flames and use them to etch the wax. Totally innocent of any dastardly doings aside from slightly mischievous me. He left in a bit of a hurry and sent along some hilarious VHS tapes decrying the evils of this and that. Particularly Dungeons and Dragons. Which was how I discovered Dungeons and Dragons and how awesome it is.

The funny thing is, I grew up with a bunch of Mormons for friends and one teacher I know of, and I never found out about most of the stuff they believe until much later. At least they (the ones I grew up with anyway) have the decency to not go around spreading their dogma to non-believers until they've already thoroughly roped them into their cult.

To be fair, so has science. Which also to be fair is because of real life evidence, not whatever passes for evidence to the religious.

I'm a fairly prolific poster. At least commenter. I started a community here for a subreddit I miss. I've even got 97 subscribers. Three of us post anything, and I am by-far the most active of those three. I highly suspect that's an expected ratio of lurkers to posters. Meaning, if I want a reasonable number of engagement, I need to get like thirty times as many subscribers. I can't see that happening any time soon unless Reddit actually collapses.

Well, do they believe the crazy bullshit, or are they just an opportunist looking to make connections? Church is lucrative.

OK. You are talking about depression. I am talking about boredom. They are not the same thing, though one may be symptomatic of the other. If you think your boredom is a result of depression, I suggest you seek help somewhere that's not an online forum.

I used to knee-jerk-reaction freak out over spiders, too. I'd probably still freak out if I turned my head and a big old wolf spider were on my shoulder or something. I have gotten over a significant amount of the fear, though. Enough to handle them occasionally if one needs rescuing from the tub or something. It helps we don't have any actually dangerous ones where I live. I'd probably have a different attitude in Australia.

Fuck centipedes though. Bitey assholes.
