  • GRS Montréal does nothing to keep that monopoly they're simply the only provider for that type of care in the province and the province doesn't care enough about us to invest in a public solution. We're a niche population with niche needs and so they believe it's fine to handle us this way.

Was I treated well at GRS? Yeah. Did I wish I had options for such a life changing surgery? Absolutely. I would have chosen another type of surgery if it was available.

But in the end, to me, the main issue with trans care in Quebec is more about the blind spots in the coverage than the monopoly of GRS Mtl...

  • The only time it's ever useful for me is when I have to come in and grab 2-3 things fast.

I hate that it basically kills cashier jobs and I hate having to do a weekly grocery on them because of how shitty the systems are... It's to the point where I'll avoid places where there's no cashier the day I do my grocery or do it online and pick it up or get it delivered.

  • In Quebec the Minister of Housing is a carreer realtor. It's going exactly like you would think it would. They fought against rent control, they removed safeguards and they made the housing crisis worse and they're calling it a win while blaming the bad on the Montreal mayor because she called them out on it.

  • Next year but as of right now, it would be the PQ and honestly with time, they've become more and more like a CAQ 2. The only thing is that their leadership seems a bit more sane... I'm not convinced but I haven't been paying that much attention since the focus has been on the south...
