  • I can guess how maddening that is for you. One of my partners is recovering from a bilateral reduction, and she was lucky enough to be allergic to the pain meds, so she had to deal with her whole body itching for a few days before she just stopped taking them.

Hope the itching stops, you may be able to take Benadryl or something for the itching to make it more tolerable.

  • How do those compare to fiberglass blankets? I do firecupping and appreciate having the protection of the blanket, but don't want to worry about shards making my partners itchy. But I'll deal with the itch if it means no fire worries...

  • I've got both a fire extinguisher and a fire blanket, and I've only ever needed the blanket so far. $26 for a 5' square fiberglass blanket that did the trick immediately the first time it was needed.

  • My "favorite" moment like this was when I was doing IT for a surgery center and one of the surgeons walked by in a "this mask does nothing" mask.

Like, how the fuck are you so pilled that your dumb ass ignores a critical part of the PPE you wear literally every day?

  • Yes, as stated below that includes property taxes and insurance, things that this person likely isn't thinking about and isn't figuring into their monthly payment. I hope I'm wrong, but I've watched friends crash and burn doing something similar.

  • Sure, if you ignore all kinds of other factors like additional closing costs added to your mortgage, as well as stuff like insurance and property taxes and the interest on the loan itself. But yeah, simple arithmetic....

I wish it was as easy as just a percentage of the mortgage every month

  • If you're looking at 300k @ 8%, youre not going to be paying anything similar to your current rent. I got a place for 190k @ 6%, and I'm paying about 200/mo less for my mortgage than you do for rent. At that rate, I'd be surprised if you got out under 2500/mo.

  • Odd, I have plenty of social interaction and haven't had facebook in over a decade. I even moved states and made an entirely new friend group, all without having a facebook.

Your problem is you lied to someone you were trying to create a relationship with. What did you expect? That she wouldn't see through a hasty attempt to make it look like you actually used the account instead of just being a dead account? For all she knows, you're going to leave her in a ditch somewhere and you're just hiding your tracks...

Just be honest, and if someone's not going to want to hang because you don't have a particular social network already, they're doing you a favor by not wasting your time.Find better friends that you'll actually enjoy spending time with and communicating. Get a hobby or something...

  • Nah, its worse than nothing. Doing nothing would mean people would still be outraged about it. This meaningless gesture is just there to get people placated and bored so they'll move on and let the SCROTUS get back to their luxury yacht tours and flying on private planes 'that were going to be flying anyway' in peace.
