  • There’s a lot of computers coming to a fake end of life that won’t qualify for Windows 11. I own one of them and will be forced to move it to Linux.

There’s a comment in this thread about how great Linux is that mentions a lot of stuff I know nothing about. I don’t have time to learn.

  • I’m so glad I purged all my crap off that network. If you wrote about a brand, your content will be used to show that brand as an advertisement. Now your content will appear like an endorsement and Reddit will definitely laugh to the bank off your words.

  • I can’t really respond with my thoughts here because I’m licensed in four states and all of them are experiencing different shifts in real estate, which I find odd.

California listings are selling quick while Utah is taking a long time to get sold. Just an example.

  • Ad Guard in Safari. When you get a site that says you are being naughty, you flip to “Show Reader” to bypass.

Then install Sink It and you’ll miss out on all the cookie prompts and bs, including Reddit asks to install app (I no longer have an account there).

  • I am one. I had six Reddit accounts, a couple were throwaways. I started at Slashdot then Digg then Reddit. I’ve since deleted all my most popular posts (that caused PMs on the regular) then deleted the accounts afterwards.

I still view content on there but with no account using AdGuard and Sink It (removes Reddits BS “download app” prompts). I also browse incognito to not leave behind tracking cookies.

I’ve made sure I’m worthless traffic to them for the content that Lemmy doesn’t have.
