I think it depends on the person too. Tylenol doesn't work well for me, even prescription Tylenol; it kind of just makes me nauseous. Advil works great though.
I had a friend learn how to drive a manual for a trip to Italy. It took maybe 2 20 minute sessions before she was comfortable with it. When she got there the driving was fine but the honking freaked her out 😂
I guess to me as someone who doesn't often join in that discussion, ACAB does sound a bit like "no cops are good". I think most cops are trying to do good, but I'd love justice to find the corrupt or politically motivated ones...
That being said I'm not American and haven't had the pleasure of meeting that particular group.
I agree with the overall sentiment that people of Lemmy can take these ideas a bit too far, calling for death of...well, everyone 😅
If they're all on the same page, how do you feel about excluding any single component of this group from private property? Is it ok for businesses to exclude the unvaccinated? How about the others? If not, is that infringing on the business owner's right to self?
I think a lot of people would say it's ok to do that to some and not others, which means these groups can't be on the same page.
I was late for a hair appointment because I missed the bus, and I swear they wrote it down in my file because every time I went back, for the next year they were like "So... Did you come by bus today?"
Also yeah no problem if your train doesn't come once - but if it happens more than once it's going to reflect badly even though it's out of your control. You'll start to get the comments "You should take the earlier one!" I travelled by bus with 2 transfers to college and it was ROUGH.
The Si and the R! They both sell like hotcakes, waited 8 months for my 2024 Si. I'm not sure why Honda doesn't increase the volume, there's still a lot of demand - maybe the margins aren't as good as their SUVs :(
That's the problem, we need a platform that's popular enough to catch their attention/make it worth the effort to post twice - which is half the reason anyone is still using Twitter. Trust me, I'm no fan of it and I avoid the comment section like the plague :/
I get updates on X from my local news and police stations about traffic, weather, etc. We'd need to get this type of stuff into another single platform before many people would switch.
I'm 34 and I still feel as young as I did at 24, I haven't experienced any fitness "degradation". However I don't have kids; I imagine if that happens and responsibility for another human kicks in it could feel a bit different 😅
I only use Lemmy except if I want to see some hot F1 gossip, in which case I'm back to /r/formula1
