  • Well, By telling Biden "it is okay, you will be voted no matter what" you encourage him to be his worst. The goal is to threaten and punish Biden if he does not uphold checks notes basic human rights, international rule of law and not being complicit in the worst crimes of humanity.

The DNC laughes about you and they are happy to fuck you over once elected again. And with you i mean everyone who is not super rich, or white upper class liberal. Believing the DNC would stick it out for LGBT rights is laughable given how happy they are to murder other minorities.

  • So by your logic Germany should not have paid reparations to the survivors and descendants of the Holocaust and should have paid no reparations to the countries it invaded? Because that was paid by the tax payer money of the people who were part of the war generation and the generations after. Even though clearly the generations after were not directly complicit, they bear the historic responsibility.

What you are advocating for under the guise of not "normalizing atrocities" is to simply abolish every people from being held accountable for their atrocities.

  • And Germans have to take the responsibility for the atrocities of the Nazi time yes. What are you on about? If people vote for a government in a democratic election they bear responsibility for it. Not individually but as a people.

Also the Germans voted Hitler once and then there were no more elections. Israel had 11 elections since Netanyahu first came into power. And also the non Netanyahu governments continued the "settlements" aka ethnic cleansing of the West Bank.

  • It seems weird that we’re both selling the bombs to the attacker and providing the aid to the attacked.

It makes perfect sense as a way to create plausible deniability while factually supporting the genocide. Also isn't it convenient to have a makeshift pier there, to start landing troops or to go from there to exploit the gas fields in front of Gaza, ones the opportunity arises?

  • Israels population continued to vote for Netanyahu or even worse fascists and even the so called "center" and "center left" have been largely in support of continued settler colonial displacements and ethnic cleansings. Still a majority is in support of the current genocide.

The opposition to being a white supremacists "Blut und Boden, Lebensraum" Fascist state are in the small minority unfortunately.

  • From a strategic point of view Fossil fuels are much better for global powers like the US. Renewables are decentralized. Countries cannot be threatened by Embargos or have their economies ruined by energy price surges. Corrupt politicians in the resource exploitation countries cannot be bribed and aided into power to subdue the population on all aspects of the economy any more.

It is the same strategic considerations like in the so called "war on drugs" If you have a strong military having goods in high demand that can only be produced in a few places allows for establishing global control.

  • If the president is spreading disinformation about violent protests, alleged antisemitism on campus and most importantly not getting the feds involved with charging the cops who aided or stood idle as the peaceful protests were attacked, including by foreign military agents, like that one IDF scum bragged about afterwards, then yes he is also responsible for enabling and then protecting the mayor and his crooks.

  • Being favorable to reform does not mean being open minded. Open minded means to respect different people and their life choices. People hostile to traditional family or religious values are also "progressive" but often not open minded as they criticize people who choose a traditional way of life.

The same goes for economic aspects. Neoliberalism is highly authoritarian. Specifically it is embraced by neofeudalists who want to reestablish their old feudal privileges but not through formal aristocracy, but by the merit of "free contracts" and them holding on to wealth. These are technically "progressive" yet they want to reintroduce power structures from a time past.

  • 1 favorable to progress or reform, as in political or religious affairs.

2 noting or pertaining to a political party advocating measures of progressive political reform.

3 of, pertaining to, based on, or advocating liberalism, especially the freedom of the individual and governmental guarantees of individual rights and liberties.

4 favorable to or in accord with concepts of maximum individual freedom possible, especially as guaranteed by law and secured by governmental protection of civil liberties.

5 favoring or permitting freedom of action, especially with respect to matters of personal belief or expression:

6 of or relating to representational forms of government rather than aristocracies and monarchies.

7 free from prejudice or bigotry; tolerant

8 open-minded or tolerant, especially free of or not bound by traditional or conventional ideas, values, etc.

Only 5,7 and 8 are "open minded" Being favorable to progress does not mean being open minded and what constitutes as progressive is in itself up to debate. Individual rights and liberties can be understood as neo-liberal capitalism of "well the law allows you, your economic situation doesn't concern us, and now back to slaving 60 hours a week." Or it could mean "We need to enable people to enjoy their liberties so we need to ensure their basic human dignity with healthcare, education and social welfare to empower them."

  • They are already doing that. half a million people had to flee from Rafah and the US and its allies are arguing "well it is not a large scale offensive" What would you call it, if Canada invaded Maine and half a million people had to flee? That is the proportions of what they deny to call "large scale" to justify toeing around it.

  • I think you cannot conflate the notion of binary existing with the personal identification as fitting into one of them or not fitting into them.

Like being gay doesn't require to reject the notion of straight people existing. And as for violating the binary, feminine makeup and dresses with a long beard is a quite strong violation of those binary notions. Just having an androgynous look does not. There is plenty of "buff" women who fully identify as women just as there is very "feminine" men that fully identify as men.
