Counterpoint, there are more firearms in possession of the American civilian populace than there were in the Ukrainian military during the February invasion.

If the American politiy doesn't want to be governed, it's going to take a whole lot of concentration camps to make it governable.

I think if Stewart won the white house and made Colbert his press secretary, and he played the character from the Colbert report and just framed everything Stewart did as the most hardcore American Conservative stance and talked about how Republicans need to get on Stewart's level, they could actually shift the Overton window.

Republican voters say the exact same things about Republican politicians.

They constantly talk about how conservative shitbags that waffled on this one thing are RINOs.

They make up conspiracies where Democrats are stopping their preferred solution even when Republicans control every branch of government.

They just have the votes.

Wealth is actually being redistributed quite a bit in Russia right now. The oligarchs are paying for the war and "the people" are getting much higher wages either in the military or because of labor shortages.

Trump wants mass deportations and he is getting mass deportations. I don't think he cares if they pick up a few white people to pad the numbers a bit.

What would happen to them if they say birthright citizenship is not a thing,? If it only applied to former slaves? Or just offer no explanation whatsoever?

They could write an opinion that says "because Trump said so." And I don't think they would face impeachment, even a little bit.

This is the second most likely outcome. The most likely is be is full of shit. I'm all for siphoning off the votes of the gullible.

Dems won't do shit to make people's lives better but they won't open up concentration camps and will mostly leave trans people alone.

Liberals hate musk and won't vote for his party. Split the stupid vote and watch Dems win unwinnable races. If he pulls that off for 2 election cycles you might even see Republicans go in on ranked choice voting.

Learning Spanish thoroughly would be difficult, but I think I could get to conversational with a couple months effort. Taking tests is my one great talent. Tests don't scare me. History? Government? Society? I will learn that in a week if I can read the material I will be tested on.

Canadas housing situation is worse than the US I thought, at least in the places most people live.

There is serious violence, but CA has law enforcement in place with experience dealing with the Cartels. The power they weild in Mexican Government would be outweighed by the 30% increase in population and the doubling of the size of the Mexican Economy.

Of course the violence that would be required to result in CA leaving the union might result in destruction of that economy. Hard to say.
