  • Bit of a copout, but all the main characters from Dispatches From Elsewhere (though I guess that's by design).

"I want you to think of yourself... as Peter"

It's not a show for everyone. But I was quite moved by it.

  • Don't worry I got what you were putting down. People can be very reactionary with their downvotes here, if your joke is too subtle it can fly over their heads.

It made me smirk! For my reference, how many zeros is that (I'm shit at maths but want to try and imagine such a long lever protruding into deep space)?

  • My first thought after laughing at this was... "wtf even IS myyrh, anyway?"

a fragrant gum resin obtained from certain trees and used

Cheap fucking bastard gave the baby Jesus chewing gum.

  • Republicans are scumbags. If you're a republican reading this, ask yourself what it is about your brain that makes you support true evil.

Do you feel small inside? Like you didn't get what you wanted from life, so now others should suffer?

  • Yes, English is weird.

'Bough' and 'cough' are not pronounced the same. 'Bough' and 'bow' are pronounced the same. 'Knee' and 'Leigh' are pronounced the same. 'Neigh' and 'nay' are pronounced the same. 'Polish' (the nationality) and 'polish' (as in what you do to a metal object) are not pronounced the same. 'Tear' (as in to rip) and 'tear' (as in to cry) are spelled the same, but not pronounced the same. Other words which are spelled the same, but pronounced differently:

resume / resume present / present record / record close / close use / use live / live

  • Do any of them need the money so badly that they are doing this

You wouldn't think Elijah Woods is struggling for cash, but TV 'stars' absolutely need to continue working, as the residual royalties they get are really quite pathetic, especially when you consider the insane amount the studios who own the rights to the series' they were in get selling them to streaming services.

Iirc this was a big factor in the recent strikes. Residuals were massively slashed for streaming.

  • Sorry I'm well late replying to this! For some reason I didn't get the notification.

I've been trying really hard to boost my visualisation skills. The best I can do is a vague suggestion of an image, it's like made out of mist and dissipates instantly.

I think there's probably like you said, a lot of people who think not being able to conjure a distinct internal image = aphantasia. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure I'm aphantasic as I score extremely poorly on any tasks that require mental image projection (eg manipulation of 3D objects, spatial reasoning etc). Iirc last time I did an IQ test which broke down IQ into various regions, I scored 17% on that part. And there's practically nothing there when I shut my eyes and concentrate.

I would wager that without having done halucinogens a number of times, that score / my ability would be even lower.

  • We also wasted time with that, one of my friends from back then had an even bigger fail the first time he bought hash.

Stood there for an hour burning it on the gas stove to get it to crumble, eventually came to the conclusion that he had been sold a stone hahaha.
