  • This has to be a hit job right. The speaker is a political science major whose worked in politics his whole career. How is this considered a mistake or incompetence because it should be seen as purposefully done I think

  • They're not working low wage jobs. These are decent paying middle income jobs that's driving many 3rd and greater generation Canadians to lose any socioeconomic status within their own country. The Canadian government is hollowing out the middle class in favor of immigration who are taking these well paying jobs to suppress wages so its cheaper to produce the goods and services. Offshoring didn't work out well so they brought the offshore to Canada and its a pretty serious issue that has caused a generation of Canadians to experience very hard times

Its driving more Canadians into low wage jobs though and increasing pressure there.

  • I think it boils down to blue jeans and letter jackets

Not saying what you're saying is wrong. What I am getting at is that its all about social groups.

The right are status quo, status quo is what is the dominate group. They're blue jeaned Americans. They are hyper focused on in and out groups. All sub groups want to be the dominate one so the dominate group is very focused on making sure they can identify their group and keep others out. It costs a lot of energy to change what is status quo yet everybody tries.

The left represent all the sub cultures trying to fight to change the status quo. They reject the blue jeans and letter jackets and instead represent what could be status quo. Sub cultures are all the minority groups, LGQTB and even groups like the disabled or just plain old social outcasts.

Its why I believe a lot of celebrities turn right when they make it. They get allowed into the group and their views change. They now have to protect the social order by rejecting any challenges to the order like trans rights, allowing minority clothing, hair and cultures from being main stream or allowing pokemonTCG from becoming a national sport.

I think all of politics makes more sense when viewed from a pop culture lens where sub groups fight to become dominate and the dominate culture struggles to maintain it's position in a fast changing modern world.

  • Canada is hurting right now by taking in so many immigrants, primarily from India. Many companies are using it to suppress wages. Its causing huge strain on housing were kids today will not own a home without assistance from a family member. Its baffling the amount of immigrants Canada is bringing in.

  • That's not a good thing.

Lying and cheating is the social game. The left is losing people and power everyday. So at the end of the day maybe acting superior is going to be the death of the party.

I'm stuck rolling around the idea like a booger. What good is being good if it means the other people who cheat and lie and steal gain every advantage and succeed. I think Having moral and ethics only works when both parties are willing to meet on them. When it becomes clear that isn't happening maybe its time to play the game back.

The supreme court + abortion rights is a good example of taking the high road right to the grave

  • Same in every country it seems. The left are weaker than wet noodles and seem like they never understand the social aspect of politics. Might be why the left is the left.

They're social outcasts who end up associating with any other social pariahs like minority groups or other subcultures who the status quo try to suppress.

The status quo end up leaning right to enforce the current paradigms. These people tend to be more ingrained into the pop culture and have greater social capital and intelligence.
