  • I literally said it was a good thing in my comment and I'm glad that governments are starting to call it out. But last time I checked people are still dying so it's not like it's suddenly over just because governments started doing the equivalent of a strongly worded letter. When people stop needlessly dying that's when I'll celebrate.

  • I'm glad countries are finally saying something, but at the same time they kinda waited until the last minute. The western world sat idly by as innocent civilians have been being murdered on a daily basis for over a year and we should never let them forget that. And it wasn't just Israel trying to hide the truth.

  • I lost my house to a forest fire when I was a kid and the help we got was literally life saving. This time around I'm already stockpiling dry food and water. Also been getting a bunch of work done on my car so it's as reliable as possible just in case I need to leave in a hurry. Got my "oh shit" bag ready to go in my car too with some extra water and food in the trunk. I live in an area that's prone to forest fires and flash floods so I'm not really taking any chances for when shit hits the fan. Usually I'd call this overkill but I don't think that applies this time around knowing that no one is coming to help.

  • All I'm saying is that the only things stopping shit from getting real have always been things like reliable shelter and food. We've been in a "housing crisis" for about 10 years now and now they are taking away peoples food and health care. If you're not willing to give people the things that they need to survive it's only a matter of time before they decide to take it themselves. If they weren't trying so hard to change history they'd pick up some history books and learn a thing or two. I'm not saying anything is going to happen, I'm just saying history tends to repeat itself.

  • Neither of them want a ceasefire. Russia wants to take over Ukraine and Trump wants to pretend that he's always busy trying to solve the problem when he isn't going to do a single thing to stop the war. They'll keep the war going as long as possible for their own needs.

  • And look, I've played early access games before and I'm used to playing games that do a server wipe every once in a while or saves being incompatible with the new version, but I'm talking every update and multiple times a year. It makes it so the only sense of progress you feel is when you buy a ship with real money so you can still have it on the next update. It's a very exhausting game.

  • As someone that played star citizen and enjoyed the gameplay very much, this game has been basically ruined by greed for years now. They basically discourage playing the actual game with these practices. Sure, you can work your ass off and make a butt load of money to buy a bunch of cool guns, armor, and ships, but as soon as they do a server wipe, which they do fairly regularly, most if not all of it will get wiped clean. But if you give them real money you get to keep everything after a server wipe.

I even had a friend where his ship, bought with in game currency, glitched and he was able to keep it several updates later with no issue while mine disappeared. We both bought them with in game currencies at about the same time. Mine disappeared as soon as the update came out and he had it for almost two years! To me that sounds like it's intentional and they could totally get away with letting you keep your stuff but they choose not to.

  • Can't wait until some power hungry and racist ICE agent that hates brown people decides to arrest them because they didn't know. It's not like this news will hit any of the sources they get their news from and since they aren't doing due process they'll probably be in El Salvador before anyone notices.

  • Trump is the embodiment of every negative stereotype that people associate with shitty Americans all bundled up into one disgusting person. And instead of being like "no he's not like all of us I swear most of us are normal" we decided to elect him twice. actions speak louder than words and I think we've proved that.

  • I'm a pretty experienced chef and worked in kitchens for almost 10 years. I liked to pride myself in making steaks on temp by just touch or even looking at it, depending on the cut of course. But when it comes to things like chicken, absolutely. If I wing it (get it?) I end up overcooking it to "be safe." But with a thermometer you can get it just right without ruining the chicken. I used to hate chicken when I was a kid because my parents always over cooked it to hell and back. Nowadays, now that I know how to cook chicken and use a thermometer, chicken is easily my favorite meat.

  • Exactly. Those people want to become richer and the regime wants people they can have leverage over so they don't step out of line. The only problem with this strategy is that it's super fragile for both sides which is usually why it fails. Just google the oligarchs that got people like Hitler into power. They always think they are safe because they are loyal but it never lasts. In the end they are all power hungry and want to be the one on top. We can already see the infighting starting with people like Musk.

  • You are also partially responsible for not doing a god damn thing to prepare the government or the country for what was coming before you left. You just fucked off since the election and coasted into to the sunset while covering your own ass. I'm not saying he was the worst, but man, he could have done so much fucking better in the end.

  • I hate to say it, but I think you are the one being a dick here my guy. I feel like calling people out for being themselves is more of a dick move than someone being themselves and making some people arbitrarily uncomfortable. You'll never be able to make everyone happy and forcing yourself to do so is a recipe for self doubt and an inability to self reflect in a healthy and constructive way. I'd rather be cringe any day of the week.
