I actually answered an unrecognized local number on Saturday thinking it might be a pollster, but it was my local voter turnout organization calling to make sure I intended to vote and to see if I needed a ride to the voting center.

What is really annoying is that there are a lot of really good data modeling applications, they are just in research areas. Generative AI is absolutely a waste of resources, but a ton of money and energy is spent on that instead of on the applications that are actually bearing fruit.

People are so short-sighted, organized labor succeeding helps all labor get more, even if they are not represented. I was in CWA for years but even after I left the union their bargaining successes typically translated into wage increases for me. So even from a purely self-interested position all workers should support union actions and celebrate union successes.

Yeah, I've read the whisker fatigue thing, I've read that it's probably not true also, but my cat bowls are wide anyway. The cat is just nuts. Like in general. Like she may actually have mental illness. The colony I got her from has produced a lot of cats with congenital issues. I have one with a vsd and another with testicular agenesis (which is apparently extremely rare).

I have a cat with a heart condition who sleeps in the middle of the floor with his eyes open. He is all black too so you can't see if he's breathing. It's gotten me just so many times.

Another cat doesn't eat directly from the bowl, instead she sits next to the bowl and spears food on her claws and licks it off like it's a fork.
