This guy is popping a wheelie right off the starting line. Where in the ever loving fuck do they dig these idiots up at? How is this government? I wouldn't trust this lunatic with a book of matches and somehow he is third in line for the presidency.

I ate a chunky bar the other night, because you know, sadness, and then went for a run a while later. A mile or so in my kidneys started to hurt. I can't say it was for sure the chunky bar but they haven't hurt like that before or since. What type of villainous corporate hack poisons the thing that's supposed to be the small escape of joy?
Also, Chunky is Nestle but still my bias says poison. I'm prepared to now receive your insults for liking Chunky bars.

These threads about the ongoing conflict recently have had me reflecting on Umberto Eco's work "Ur-Fascism" as of late. Specifically the 14 common features he identified that are shared under fascist thought. The one I've been thinking about the most lately, as I read some of the grotesque things people are writing, is #8: The enemy is both weak and strong. “[…] the followers must be convinced that they can overwhelm the enemies. Thus, by a continuous shifting of rhetorical focus, the enemies are at the same time too strong and too weak.”
But upon review I think that these other ones are worth reflecting on as well. I mean they all really are in the context of this crisis, but I found these to be the most striking.
4: Disagreement is treason. “The critical spirit makes distinctions, and to distinguish is a sign of modernism. In modern culture, the scientific community praises disagreement as a way to improve knowledge.”
5: Fear of difference. “The first appeal of a fascist or prematurely fascist movement is an appeal against the intruders. Thus Ur-Fascism is racist by definition.”
6: Appeal to social frustration. “[…] one of the most typical features of the historical fascism was the appeal to a frustrated middle class, a class suffering from an economic crisis or feelings of political humiliation, and frightened by the pressure of lower social groups.
7: The obsession with a plot. “The followers must feel besieged. The easiest way to solve the plot is the appeal to xenophobia.”
9: Pacifism is trafficking with the enemy. “For Ur-Fascism there is no struggle for life but, rather, life is lived for struggle.”
10: Contempt for the weak. “Elitism is a typical aspect of any reactionary ideology.”
I'm not following here... Someone thought that since everyone is busy, focused on a war halfway around the world that now is the perfect opportunity to commit that woman murder they've been tinkering around with doing some day? Is this a whoosh moment? Am I being whooshed?

This somehow feels like the scene in "You don't mess with the Zohan" where Rob Schneider buys Neosporin and throws it at a window expecting it to explode. You know middle east peace is impossible when such brilliance as Adam Sandler can't even crack that nut. Kinda unrelated but worth mentioning, Rob Schneider sure turned out to be a piece of shit.
Yeah, I was sort of struggling how to make anything positive out of something that is horrible regardless. Silver lining doesn't really work the best but I struggled how to phrase it otherwise. Violence against women and the hardship they face truly is all too common, normalized, under prosecuted and a silent killer. There's a real mental health crisis here in this country and the continual lack of funding for preventative resources is to blame for so much of that suffering.
I apologize profusely if it felt like my wording was aimed at lessening her loss and assure you that in no way had I intended it to do so.
Luckily you've read the articles about this and know that the Governor appointed the State Police to take part in the investigation and also the FBI is taking part due to the potential implications. Are you purposely omitting that or just generally speaking from a place of ignorance?
Watch the video segment on the article till the end "no signs of forced entry or defensive wounds." found a large Israeli flag that appeared to be untouched. This was, as others have said, someone they trusted and that they knew. And in my opinion, it's weird that some people seemingly want it to be otherwise.
If it's not a targeted religious attack doesn't that at least put some kind of silver lining to an otherwise heartbreaking and unthinkable loss?
bobby fingers. You're welcome :D
