  • It's beginning. All over again. Fuck. We gon' have to destroy some Nazis again, aren't we?

  • Don’t pretend like you weren’t implying Soviet style collectives.

Why do you believe this? I'm a fuckin' anarchist for christ sake. I already mentioned libertarian socialism once.

  • Why do you think a co-op can only ever possibly exist in an authoritarian soviet type system? My power company is a co-op.

    Here, I'll help you:

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cooperative

Nothing in there except a tiny blurb about the Soviet Union as far as I can see. A soviet "worker's council" is not a cooperative.

  • If you're going to continue to insult me and gaslight me, we are done here. Have a good day.

  • I said nothing about a planned economy, now you're putting words in my mouth.

    Ever hear of libertarian socialism?

Edit: I get the feeling we are talking about the same thing using different terms...

  • Back in 2008, I had that cube thingy set up. My neighbor was over for a chat and I went over and flipped to another desktop to look at an email. His jaw just about dropped when he saw the cube spin around, and asked if I could get that on his computer.

Seeing as he was just a normal computer user, and I didn't have the time to be his tech support, I just straight up said "no" and handed him an Ubuntu disc which I had a few free copies of (yeah I'm not really the evangelizing type, but will provide what I can). I told him the basics. Try the lived session first. What compiz is, etc.

Don't know if he ever got around to trying Linux.

  • The flip side of this is waking up on your day off, and you mindlessly start going through the motions of getting ready for work. Then halfway through brushing your teeth it hits you.

  • There are specific definitions and I'm sticking to them. If your economy has capitalists controlling companies with workers trading their labor for a wage underneath them, then it is capitalist, full stop.

Unless your economy is full of co-ops or something. I don't know the common typical structure for a nordic company.

  • Since when is Arch proprietary?

  • By "socialism", are we talking:

    A. Worker-controlled economic system, or

    B. What American liberals think is socialism, which is just a capitalist system with welfare.

  • Prompt: "How does a spacecraft navigate to the moon?"

A: "SPACE NOT REAL, GLOBEHEAD LIBTARD SOYBOY SHEEPLE."

  • Yeah, notice how it's still up, people are having a rational discussion, and nobody is getting annoyed with anybody. Unlike whatever it is you're doing.

  • I dislike wayland

  • This is called a paranoid delusion.

    Nobody. Cares.

  • Why does it want me to git some grubs?

  • They made an entire Linux-powered portable game system that's revolutionizing Linux gaming at the moment...an embedded engineer is not the same skillset as an app developer. Not even close.

  • Doesn't look like we'll have much of a choice. They're not going back into the bag.
We definitely need some good AI content filters. Fight fire with fire. They seem to be good at this kind of thing (pattern recognition), way better than any procedural programmed system.

  • You can have AIs that detect other AIs' content and can make a decision on whether to incorporate that info or not.
