  • I didn't decide shit, the rest of these asshats I'm surrounded by did it for me. Leave me out of it.

Stares nervously at the water heater closet we just built in the basement.

  • Bitcoin is open source, released as such by Satoshi themselves. How do you claim IP on that?

  • Squirrels are opportunistic eaters. During the last US east coast 17-year Cicada brood, I saw them chowing down on them left and right.

And yes, I am aware of my username...not on purpose I swear.

  • Bullshit heavy handed smackdown for what is probably a half-dozen or so troll drone pilots having a laugh.

Let's get together and flashmob a thousand of them into the sky at once. FPV is not a crime.

  • Until somehow the world order changes and states dissolve into something else, drafts are a fact of life. One of the prices you pay for having a state provide you with stable infrastructure, transportation, fire, medical, law enforcement, property rights, etc. etc. is the possibility that one day you may be called upon to defend that state.

Your beef is with the systems we have, not Zelensky in particular.

  • Okay, I'm moving into your living room and shooting your dog. If you or your family try to stop me, you're a sadistic clown apparently.

  • Norquist has been enthusiastic about Musk’s ability to generate public attention for efforts to reduce the size of government. But he suggested that the owner of a space rocket company wasn’t the right person to spearhead a congressional spending debate.

“He doesn’t know politics like he knows physics,” he said.

Hey dude. He doesn't fucking know physics either. Not any more than a 12 year old who's played KSP for a couple days. He's a pseudointellectual.

  • I totally get that we need to figure out cleaner ways to access space and need to reign stuff like this in.

    But also...

gestures wildly at the entirety of oil/coal/manufacturing industries completely dwarfing the operations of one space launch facility

It just feels like being proud of the clean yard you just picked up all the street trash from when you live directly behind a landfill.

  • Also getting tired of people associating the word "quantum" with futuristic or extremely advanced, thinking somehow they will supercharge AI or something.

All it means is the idea that everything is discrete packets of energy, or "quanta", existing in various fields. It's a mathematical model to describe what we see. That's it.

  • Wat? Don't you dare talk that way about my favorite multiple personality disorder clusterfuck of a language.

  • My 30’s were an era of working very hard – and playing hard too. It’s embarrassing, though not criminal, that I probably partied, womanized, drank and smoked more than I should have earlier in life. I live a different life now.”

Yeah, at 30, I already had a wife, kid, a regular career, and was pretty much set on maintaining a stable lifestyle for the rest of my life. He must have had the mentality of a five year old at 18.

  • It's like everyone's crazy-ass right wing uncle/grandfather who's still living in 1980 and still thinks EVs are "hippie mobiles" managed to snake his way into power.

If they only knew what kind of power an electric motor can put out from a dead stop. Maybe we can get them to appreciate the "Tim Allen grunt" aspect of EVs. They are going to flip their shit when motorsports like drag racing switch over to electric.

  • Rawdogging the Internet is bad for your health. Get a blocker. Make a Pihole DNS server. Etc.

These days, assume every website is loaded with trackers and scam ads, even legit ones, because they are.
