  • Love that as soon as his name got attached to Epstein, that he's shifted to damage control and trying to push this narrative that it's been a "radical Left" issue this whole time. And trying to get all his conspiracy people to move on to an election that at this point doesn't matter either way is just full panic.

They filled lawsuits all over the country that they had to withdraw because they had no evidence, yet continue to claim to be ready to release all the "evidence" they have anytime now for years. I think even his Supreme Court is going to find it hard to invent constitution law to back up their conspiracy theories. I would love to see them try though, make it televised, since they are just pissing away tax dollars anyway.

  • I hadn't given this any thought previously, but reading your post now that I have kids playing through my library, and that I'm constantly adding games, this would be helpful.

So for self hosted I found this: Slaanesh

And for a letterboxd feel for games I found this: Backlogged

  • Have you tried the default Fedora kernel? Also you didn't install TLP did you?

  • Well those white South Africans needed that asylum because of the white genocide going on in Africa. /s

Also Trump has to do something to distract his base from the fact he just had his DOJ do a huge Epstein coverup after promising to bring the pedo cabal to justice for years.

  • Interesting that they would be confused at all. I have an interest, because Canada is cool, but I won't be visiting anytime soon because I know we are the worst and nobody is going to want us there. I also don't want to deal with assholes at the border, even though I'm a US citizen they have carte blanche to do anything they are in the mood for.

  • It is a bit of weighing the convenience of Steam dealing with your catalog of games, making them all just a download away, and keeping them outside of Steam and needing to come up with your own currarion method. And if you are buying (licensing it - because apparently nobody actually owns their games) the game outside one of these storefronts, you still have DRM to deal with most likely anyway.

Just have to weigh the pros vs cons.

  • Are you trying to kill the beautiful birds and drive the whales crazy?! /s

  • Have you tried sweeping your forests, I remember that was the issue in California. /s

  • As the only platform that cares about gamers I would say it's your only choice under Windows also. Unless you pay for boxed versions and then rip/crack them so your not messing with physical media constantly, but then disk space becomes and issue fast.

  • "It obviously needs some tuning, but this is the radical left blowing a small thing out of proportion."

    • Twitter/Musk at some point (probably)

Do remember this is the guy who did 2 full Nazi salutes at an event for his presidential candidate, and America voted Trump in anyway, they give zero fucks about "blatant". And training his AI on Nazi material is going to make his bot pro-Nazi, not rocket-surgery.

  • Before and after. Like you said, the occurrence of one unfortunately doesn't stop humans from carrying out another elsewhere.

  • Those people need to get jobs making money for someone else, think of the shareholders! These freeloaders are growing the deficit by not working enough to cover the tax breaks for the 1%! /s

  • I mean this was kinda the plan for Twitter, and for his AI all along. This isn't a bug, it's working as expected.

  • They released a thing yesterday that they essentially looked into the "boss" and found "no client list" and are done investigating it. Case closed.

Makes me wonder how much evidence went missing under Barr.

  • True, and as long as expense ratios are the same or lower than your US index/mutual fund then your only real issue is if the US market rebounds and outperforms your portfolio if you had diversified more.

And the expense ratio's can vary a lot. For example Fidelity shows the exp. ratio of ($0.08 per $1,000) 0.008% for their Index Equity Fund, where their International Equity Fund has an exp. ratio of ($4.02 per $1,000) 0.402%.

Even small differences in fees can have a huge effect over time. Say you’ve invested $100,000 at a 7% annual return: A fund with a 0.80% expense ratio could eat up $70,000 more of your returns over 30 years than a fund with a 0.40% expense ratio.

  • All good! The internet makes it even harder to tell because I can't "read" anyone over the ether.

  • I don't think they need to make their games FOSS to do right by the consumer. If you have an online game and no longer want to support the server part, it would be super cool to share that code, but at the very least companies shouldn't be trying to shut down community servers. The same goes for the game itself, the source code would be very cool, but not going after people who still want to play the game they've chosen to no longer support seems reasonable.

If a company is ending support their ability to enforce copyright should also end, outside of people that are trying to profit off trying to resell the game as their own (which probably doesn't happen all that much).
