  • Not asking this to be combative, but as Jellyfin convert I'm curious what quality/features you are missing? Also what platform are you using mainly?

I watch mostly using the Android app or Nvidia Shield, and the client does everything Plex did (in terms of just media watching - no DVR or other features ) without all the bloat the current Plex client brings.

  • What type of device is the Xbox or PS5 hooked up to? If a TV ("smart TV") then there is a client for both Roku and Android TV. If they are using a monitor, could they use the web client? Or could they use the web client on either console (I never had an Xbox, and only PS was PS1 so I honestly have no idea)?

I've only used the Android/Android TV/web client versions from the Jellyfin team, but all seemed solid these days. On Linux I've also used a number of 3rd party clients, and there are plenty of 3rd party clients for most non-console platforms.

  • Ah, the small government free speech party once again putting their hypocrisy on full display. I wish more people watched their actions instead of just listening to the lies they say and are repeated through their propaganda network.

  • Is this a position she needs to resign from the House to do, because that would be awful! /s

  • Sorry! Privatizing education (because it's $$$) has been on the GOP bucket list for years. It's why they constantly bash teachers and their unions. It's why we have trans rights as a social issue in schools first. It's why they could care less about gun violence in schools. It's why they are constantly trying to cut funding, putting conspiracy theorists on school boards, and banning books. And on and on.

It's all about undercutting the public's perception of public education, so when they try and do a hard steer to private schools people think "it can't be any worse". And they run it like Trump University and laugh all the way to the bank, and it'll take decades to reverse (if ever).

  • Agreed, but an awful lot of white males that in the past might have been pro union (that didn't vote in their oppressors) are now full on MAGA while the GOP robs them blind.

  • Because it's not about being qualified, it's about-

    1. being loyal
    2. breaking the system so that the GOP can continue their "the government doesn't work" talking points, and move everything to being privatized and controlled by donors ($$$)
  • We as a country have definitely lost our "the man is trying to keep me down" mentality and have bought into this "we want to welcome you to the club" bullshit the Right has been pushing for years. They dangle an enormous carrot in front of the working class, and then give it to their rich friends and blame it on the Left.

And this idea of deporting immigrants is the same thing, "lets get these people out so we can pay our private contractor friends Billions and blame it on the Left" (and hoping it hurts future Left voters). If you dig though, it's these same shitheads exploiting them (immigrants ) as a labor force doing jobs they have no plan to pay a decent wage for. Trump was famous for doing this in the construction of several of his properties, underpay of don't pay and then threaten them with ICE or lawsuits if they don't go away.

  • Families like hers express frustration at the lack of a path to citizenship despite decades of contributing to U.S. society, relying instead on community support for resilience.

And yet Trump's own wife who worked illegally here on a Visa, and then lived here many years with a Green Card, and then used "chain migration" to bring her parents to the US only becoming a citizen in 2006 after living here since 1996 (and still maintains a dual citizenship).

But sure, let's work on deporting people instead of trying to make less hurtles to citizenship.

Edit - posted quickly and missed the quote tag

  • Correct, and keep cashing the federal checks for "border security" Trump will arrange with them.

  • I wonder if they will eventually gather so many they need to install "showers" to cycle "prisoners" through?

  • Can you expand upon that? Everyone knew that a vote for Trump/3rd party/or not voting at all was to Trump's benefit. Did you see a model or theory that would allow Trump to get more votes and still lose the electoral college? Or is your argument that people that only enabled Trump but didn't vote for him shouldn't be put in the same bucket?

  • The people who sat on the couch are just as responsible for this as the people who voted him in. He actually won the popular vote this time around, so between the 2 groups this is what they wanted.

  • If released, I hope that the victim/witness information is redacted, unless of course this is a hack done by the Right to get the women's names out to the cult so they can do what the cult does best. =(

  • And the far right using free speech/censorship as a cover for hate speech is always in bad faith.

  • I guess I've been out of the loop for pre-hate Pepe (pre-2016), but the only reason I know of him at all is because of all the Nazi/Quon/KKK folks blasting him all over Twitter and everywhere else. I've always assumed everyone knew since it's been almost a decade, and anyone using him these days is doing so in bad faith.

  • Outside of us causing a nuclear war, it will eventually get better. Every empire eventually falls, it's just a question of, do we take Mother Earth with us?

  • I think this has become such a thing because the Right has essentially taken control of current mainstream media, with them constantly doing things like giving Trump (and other fascists) the benefit of the doubt and "both sides" everything.

But the right also has a large and widespread network for their lies/disinformation/conspiracy theories on "independent media" as well. Look at the top 10 podcasts/web shows (on YouTube/etc.), or at the number of just hate "social" networks, and what amount of those push anything outside of Trump-land talking points?

  • The slippery slope here is that deciding who is "illegal" may vary wildly depending on who Trump empowers (legit or just some Nazis that want "safe streets") to decide this. He has had people saying just undocumented, but also people saying anyone that isn't a full citizen (so anyone here with a Visa/Green Card/work papers/migrant workers/refugees/etc.).

You also know that when the Nazis/KKK folks get to work they are just going to be grabbing people that "look illegal" or that run from them/their mob (because they look dangerous!).

This is also going to have a HUGE impact on food prices when farmers have nobody to pick crops.
