I have Android 12, but no longer get any updates for my phone. Which is a system that desperately needs to change... But good to know that it may become available if I ever get a new phone

Yes, this was the same for me, only the Dutch one

First time I've signed one of these. Most annoying part of the process was that Android apparently no (longer?) has a quick toggle for NFC.

Anyway, I hope this will lead to something. If I understand it correctly one member country can still veto this, right?

One interesting thing I haven't read here yet (haven't read all the comments though) is religion. Sure, officially there's separation of church and state, but Christianity is everywhere in your country, including government. The amount of times I've heard "God bless the United States" being said is ridiculous. To me, that's undemocratic and I would feel very uncomfortable with that as an atheist.

My boyfriend wanted Linux on his laptop and he's not tech savvy at all. I installed Mint for him and he's very happy with it, no complaints. It's a very good choice.

I have the same issue, been having it for a few more days and still not resolved today. The subscribed feed loads fine though.

Edit: problem is fixed now.

I have a T460 running Debian 12 with Cinnamon on it, which is Linux Mint's desktop environment. It runs perfect, never have any issues, I just have to be patient every now and then.

OpenSuse I think I will be in the office tomorrow morning if you want to come over and help me out with the mouse and pasting it by pressing the middle mouse button on the phone to the right of the door

What usually also works on Linux is selecting text with the mouse and pasting it by pressing the middle mouse button (or scroll wheel). You'd still need the mouse, but it's at least a little quicker ☺️

Has anyone tried this yet on Debian 12? Would be nice to upgrade from the ESR version.

It's a local program (I live in the Netherlands) for people with autism or similar issues. They teach you html and java and some other stuff I don't remember. Eventually they help you to work on projects they do for other businesses and even find a job with a "regular" company, but only if you're ready for that and able to do it. It's government funded and aside from the IT professionals, they also have healthcare professionals who help you with any issues you encounter in the work environment. After having been unemployed for years due to mental health issues, it's a very exciting opportunity for me. I've already visited the company and the people and work environment there seem really suitable.

Hell, even today a shitload of websites I visit on FF just don’t fucking render correctly and I’ll have to fire up a chromium instance just to access them.

Can you link to an example? I remember this from years ago, but haven't encountered it for a long time.

• Got back on Mastodon when it got rolling a bit more. I follow more accounts now and it's actually fun.
• Got back on linux after a 5 year hiatus. I should have done it a whole lot sooner, I enjoy using my computer more.
• Needed a laptop and instead of buying a new one, I got a secondhand laptop from a local system administrator who put linux on it. Debian is great and I love the old Thinkpad.
• I've applied to a learn/work program in web development. I haven't started yet, but I will soon. I'm so excited for that.

Ugh... Went to an outdoor swimming pool this spring for the first time in years. Decided to dry up in the sun instead of toweling off. Laid down in the grass for 10, maybe 15 minutes, got slowly covered in ants. The next day I discovered I had a tick. Took me a while to go swimming again...

NL as well. Maybe it's because it's a big city, poor neighbourhood, more theft, I don't know, but I'm done with it.
