  • The r/Canada subreddit was taken over by far right wing mods and astroturfed to all hell with Conservative nonsense and Convoy support. I found myself speaking up more and more there because it was full of homophobic, racist antivaxxers and that is not an exaggeration.

  • This feels like it was written by someone who has never been on Lemmy because that has not been my experience at all.

Reddit is fucking full of bots astroturfing right wing political nonsense and we’re not getting that on Lemmy because those instances are often defederated.

Or, you know, he’s one of those guys who signed up for world when he should have gone to exploding heads.

  • Could it also equally be that you spend a lot of time on the computer so everything you do there just turns into a blob of sameness?

That happens to me either on or off meds. The best way for me to remember something is to physically write it. Always has been. I would rewrite my notes in school by hand to study.

I don’t know what book you read or the research behind it so I can’t comment there but I would consider that it may not be the meds at all. And oh yeah, this problem has gotten worse for me with age so I enjoy that too.

Some things just stick in my brain better and some things just don’t.

  • I saw the hat man in my room one night as a child and I wasn’t on Benadryl. He just stood in my doorway and stared at me. He had no eyes but I knew he was looking at me. I called out for my mom and she walked through him.

  • I don’t feel Canada is wrong here. You can’t just murder one of our own citizens on our own soil. If India wants to prosecute or use the legal system that’s fine.

That being said, I also feel like Canada accepts a lot of immigration from India. We take tons of Indian students and Canadians don’t necessarily go to India for schooling. I’m wondering how long this will last because I don’t feel Canada needs India as much as India needs Canada. I could be wrong, just a layman’s assessment.

  • I guess as a Canadian, my question is (pre-brain issues) what made Mitch McConnell have such a stranglehold over the Senate in comparison? Is it just that McCarthy has razor thin margins in the House? I think Mitch would have been able to whip the votes to get the party to do what he wanted. How is McCarthy different?

And ps this system of constantly having to vote to avoid Government shutdown seems really dumb from an outsider perspective…
