  • That's literally the only data we have so that's what I'm basing my opinion to while being fully aware that while I doubt that these stats lie they may however be misleading as statistics often are.

My key argument still stands; autopilot/FSD is not as bad/dangerous as people here make them to be and they're getting better all the time.

If one is going to make the claim that these systems are more dangerous than human driver then show me the data you're basing it on. People surely don't think that just because they don't like the company/CEO, right?

  • Even according to that article autopilot and FSD seems to be about at the level as human driver. I'm willing to accept that - many others arent.

The narrative here is that these systems are dangerous and shouldn't be allowed to be used on public roads. My argument is that they're not as dangerous as reading stories about these individual incidents might make them seem like and they're getting better all the time. If they're not significantly better than human drivers now they will be soon and Tesla most likely is going to lead the way.

  • ..then provide some more trustworthy stats because you just saying that is not it. This is literally like debating a climate change denier or flat earther.

"Here's a picture of the earth from space"

    • Lies! Nasa cannot be trusted. CGI.
  • According to this report, the average Tesla equipped with FSD Beta, driven on predominantly non-highway sections of road, crashes 0.31 times per million miles, a dramatic decrease from the average American, who crashes 1.53 times every million miles.

  • Literally can't debate with you guys because you straight out refuse to believe any evidence presented to you and just base your opinions on anecdotal evidence and individual incidents. If those stats are made up then provide a better source that backs you up.

  • Autopilot or FSD Beta has never been something you're supposed to rely on and every Tesla owner knows this. If they drive over someone it's the fault of the driver, not the vehicle. Accidents will always happen and if you focus on individual incidents you're missing the big picture. You're never going to reach 100% safety and 99.99% safety means 33000 accidents a year in the US alone. Also the little statistics we have about this indicate that drivers with FSD or Autopilot engaged already crash less than the average.

  • Interesting. I'm not scared of being seen but I like to not be seen. I spend a lot of time in nature and I always wear only earth tones. I like it when other people pass me up close but fail to notice me. I wonder if it has something to do with my voyeuristic tendencies. I love to just sit in a cafe to and watch people passing by.

  • I wasn't talking about the wealth of pro athletes but their athletic capabilities. Your workouts will be miserable for the rest of your life if those are the people you're comparing yourself to.

  • Comparing myself to the ultra rich doesn't affect me any more than comparing myself to super athletes. It's the people around me that matters and they're not significantly more wealthy than me. You'll never be content in your life if this is the bar to reach.

  • I disagree. I couldn't care less if you're a trans or whatever but if you make a scene when I don't call you a zer then you're an idiot and it has nothing to do with your sexuality. It's with the fact that you're acting like an entitled prick.

In my native language our pronouns are gender neutral and always has been. You can indentify as whatever you like and you're already included. That seems like the obviously better way to solve this "issue" instead of coming up with a boatload of new ones. Unless it's tattooed on your forehead I'm not going to remember.

  • I've never heard that one before. Kinda get it though. I bought a surplus army jacket and the description said some of them come with Austrian army logo on the shoulder. Well mine did come with one and I like it though I'm somewhat worried someone might see that as cringe but I justify it by the fact that it was already there and I didn't attach it.

  • What kind of clothes are you talking about?

Overknee socks, crop tops, tiny shorts, speedos, yoga pants ...

I'm perfectly aware that it's not that others care that's holding me back but the fact that I care. Doesn't make it any easier though.
