Many people have also said if you set your location to for example India when signing up for premium you'll get it basically for free compared to what it'll cost in europe and it'll keep working even if your location is elsewhere from there on.
That still doesn't tell are those accidents happening more compared to normal cars. If you have good driver assist systems which are able to prevent majority of minor crashes but not the severe ones then the total number of crashes goes down but the kinds that remain are the bad ones.
I'm still waiting for the data that you said is piling up. You also did not specify what number of accidents you find acceptable for a self driving system. It's almost like you're trying to evade my questions..
The podcast was about death in general and what I was talking about is just one thing he talked about. It's not something he believes in per se but just an idea he entertained. I can link you the full episode if you're interested.

I find the non-experience of general anesthesia to be quite comforting in two ways.
Assuming that from the first person perspective it’s indistinguishable from death then it confirms that death is not just some kind of positive non-existence. You’re not left floating in a black void. It’s not that there’s a gap in the movie that’s just a blank screen. That entire section is removed. You go from one moment to another entirely skipping what happened inbetween. From first person perspective that gap doesn’t exist. You never really went unconsciouss. You went from experiencing the drugs starting to take effect to waking up. Death is probably just like this except that there’s no jump from experience to another but experience just stops.
The another thing about this is that maybe death doesn’t stop experience. Since you cannot experience not existing then maybe death is no different from general anesthesia; you die here and then in an instant you’re (what ever that is) transported having some other experience somewhere else in a different body or into whatever that can have experiences. Perhaps this is what people mean by rebirth.
Exactly. Driver assist features. These aren't something to be blindly relied on and everyone knows this and the vehicle will remind you. Every crash is fault of the driver - not the system.

First of all what is it that you consider safe? I'm sure you realize that 100% safety rating is just fantasy so what is the acceptable rate of accidents for you?
Secondly would you mind sharing the data "that's piling up is showing that Autopilot is deadly" ? Reports of individual incidents is not what I'm asking for because as I stated above; you're not going to get 100% safety so there's always going to be individual incidents to talk about.
You also seem to be talking about FSD beta and autopilot interchangeably thought they're a different thing. Hope you realize this.
I'm basing my view on the only data that I'm aware of and it's linked above. You might not like the source of this data and that's fair but you not liking it is not evidence to the contrary. Even this article that refutes those stats doesn't provide any significant evidence that Tesla autopilot/FSD is more dangerous than a human driver. You can focus on individual incidents all day but what truly matters is the big picture and wether on average it's safer than a human driver or not and currently it seems that at worse it's about on par with humans and thus it's just a matter of time untill it's better. A lot better.
I have no dog in this fight and I'm fully willing to grant that the data Tesla hands out is very likely more or less misleading but that still doesn't make my basic argument wrong which is that Teslas and their driver assist systems aren't inherently any more dangerous than the competition. Tesla just gets way more attention in the media.
Because then you'd be in even deeper shit. Just breaking things isn't going to solve your problems. You need to come up with a better alternative and by better I mean something that actually works and doesn't just sound nice.
My summer vacation is 4 weeks and I use that every july - august all in one go as does my SO and all of the people I work with. This is on top of my week long winter vacation and the 10 or so calendar holidays we all get through the year. I also "earn" one extra holiday every 2 weeks or so that I can pretty much spend when ever I want.
Driving a car is not safe. 40000 people die on car crashes every year in the US alone. Nothing in that article indicates that autopilot/FSD is more dangerous than a human driver. Just that they're flawed systems as is expected. It's good to keep in mind that 99.99% safety rating means 33000 accidents a year in the US alone.
I pity the people having to attend school during the social media era. I just managed to avoid it.
