  • This one reminds me of "La-a" (pronounced Ladasha)

I considered trying to change legal name to "Thbptbpt" (pronounced like a fart sound/blowing a raspberry)

  • Is this CRUMBGRABBER's reddit account?

  • the correct response

There is no "correct" response to traumatic events

  • Top fucking tier trolling, I'm so impressed. Or autism? I'm thoroughly entertained either way

  • Woah. Doubled down with a definition that confirms you're wrong

  • Well this is about the clinical definition of gender dysphoria, which isn't a term used in treatment contexts outside the US (i.e., places with free healthcare). Most other countries, in clinical contexts at least, use the ICD11, which uses the term gender incongruence and is actually less strict

  • This is about digital art? What does stealing it mean in this context?

If it isn't stealing (I.e., if people are explicitly allowed to take it/ it's free) then people with kleptomania are no more likely to take it than anyone else

  • If I was a rich person and I trusted Apple, I would switch to iPhone for this.

We'll get an open source, entirely local version for GrapheneOS eventually though, I imagine

  • For the people like me who can read this without significant struggle/discomfort:

  • Nah, man, I'm autistic

    "You're eating that meal again?"

    I just said I'm autistic

    "You like Sonic The Hedgehog?"

    Yeah, man, that's a prerequisite

    "Why are you hyperfixating?"

    See the above, bitch

  • This was my initial reaction to the headline as well (and the other similar headlines that I've scrolled past recently), but then I actually read this one. Did you read it? It's ultimately just a guy suggesting things, but it does actually sound like it could be legitimate. We can't know without recounts but, if the statistics shared are true, it does seem suspicious

  • I absolutely think this will be very popular, but I (and many others, I'm sure) often like to just sit back and mindlessly watch- I don't always want to participate in the entertainment.

Especially if we get FDVR though- it could be like blending video games with TV/movies

  • I imagine a video content platform (movies, series, short form, etc) that generates the content as you watch it, and adjusts in real time based on your engagement, with optional prompting. Like I could start out by prompting it with "a show like The Office, but if it were directed by Tim Robinson; prioritize my laughter" and it takes it from there, adjusting as it goes to include more of what makes me laugh.

This would of course have to be run locally. I'd never sign up for something this invasive if it were connected to the internet at all

  • Oof.

A friend of mine broke up with their partner, and was having a hard time not feeling like a terrible person bc their now ex was expressing a lot of sadness and fear, practically grovelling. To make it easier on my friend, I manipulated the ex into feeling angry instead; this allowed my friend to feel justified in going no-contact and not feeling guilty anymore.
