  • 28/29 next weekend. Last gasp of summer I reckon.

  • Did not make it back home before the rain. Washing now in dryer - boo.

  • Bacharach is less known that he used to be. And still underrated. I like his work too.

  • Gorgeous flowers! Happy Birthday.

  • Um, I was thinking of tubes of toothpaste. When you change the topography of the outside layer by squeezing, the inside volume goes down. The difference here is that the shape of the bottle springs back which does not happen with toothpaste.

  • PSA: new way for manufacturers to skive on what they sell. Just did a load of washing with a new bottle of laundry liquid. Clear bottle that was full to the top. Undid the top, and the vacuum released and the level of laundry liquid in the bottle dropped by about 2-3 cm. They'd squeezed the bottle when filling it to make it look a lot fuller than it was. Didn't think to measure the amount of liquid but will next time.

  • Most pharmacies should have them as a service. Particularly if there's lots of elderly folks in the area.

  • Hrrmm, got a birthday in the family coming up ...

  • Talk to your pharmacist about webster packs. Like little strips of gladwrap sachets with the right pills in each sachet - one strip per day. Mum had these to keep track of her daily pills. She started at one end at breakfast and finished the strip with her evening cuppa.
When dose or frequency changed, we took the remaining strips back to the pharmacy and they gave us new ones with the new pill regime.

EDIT: Mum was on some pills 3 times a day, another couple twice a day, and another four times a day so it was a nightmare keeping track. And keeping up with the prescriptions too. Webster packs solved all that hassle.

  • Fair point. I love the main drag - so many lotus stalks on sale.

  • Yes, much. Last go around of blood works meant that I didn't have to take them anymore, which was a huuuge plus from my perspective. Ditto vitamin D supplements. Now down to one pill per week which I can live with. I haaaate chronic medication.

  • Daylight? Shouldn't be a problem.

Though now that Olympic doughnuts has closed, why would you want to go there?

  • My favorite there was a good few years back - skinny longhaired teenager playing New York State of Mind on transparent vinyl bagpipes. And he did a stompin good job of it too.

  • Thank you chef! Hope you are enjoying a nice breakfast too.

  • Yep. Those were the ones I took.

  • I so hate the tablets - had to take them after cancer treatment and they sucked.

  • Bacon & eggs on toast please, with coffee.

  • That's probably the single most useful thing anyone can do on work experience. That is, learning that cops are people too (off duty). Police stations and courthouses is where the rubber meets the road in terms of peopleology too.
