Clashes between Druze militias and Sunni Bedouin clans in Syria kill more than 30 people

  • That's sweet, Im glad Sandy has someone watching out for her.

  • Sounds like a great set up. Thanks for answering and doing right by your horse. I should have known from her being so willing to horse around with you in the heat.

  • She needs a lick, you are right. Does she have any shade? A temporary shade spot can be a life saver for a pasture animal in the heat.

Sandy is beautiful, love her coat color.

  • By remaining self critical. Listening to new ideas. Trying to not hold it against myself when I'm wrong. Also reading, lots and lots of reading. I've been reading at a college level since the middle of elementary school, and Ive used that time to read a ridiculous corpus of books, tomes, treatises and manuscripts. Can even speak and write a little Old Babylonian.

  • Defending a violent, Imperial, kleptoctacy is not Marxism. Lying about how you are being criticized is not a genius plan to avoid the consequences of what you said. Can you communicate in anything other than buzz words or am I talking to a chat bot?

  • Call me crazy, but people might take ML users stand against fascism more seriously if they did literally anything with it besides just rooting for a different Imperial kleptocracy built on violence.

  • That is true, but I would really like to live in the region and Jordan is probably the safest bet. Otherwise Morocco is the smart choice for arabic speaking nation tolerant of Americans with a reasonable margin for safety. I won't be leaving anytime soon either way, this is more of a dream living abroad answer for right now. I intend to vote, protest and be a pain in the ass until they drive me out.

  • Morocco or Jordan. Been trying to learn Arabic for a few years and would love to be forced to take it more seriously. Mostly can just read the letters. They are relatively safe countries that are in areas of the world I have studied extensively. Also means closer travel to many of the old cities I want to visit.

  • Im reading The Bridge on the Drina, and the first Ahriman omnibus from the warhammer universe right now. Id recommend the first to anyone, its an absolute classic. The second I would recommend to anyone who likes warhammer or weird sorcerer bull shit.

  • I use one called W1ANT Satellite Tracker. I don't think it has a camera feature. The fun for me is locating the sat and following it from a map. In practice this involves me looking like a lunatic running around my apartment complex with my HT held sideways, staring up at the sky.

  • Ham radio is licensed by the country you live in. In the US, the basic technician license is very cheap and the test to get it is fairly easy with an abundance of online materials, including answer keys, to study. The reason these licenses are important is because ham operators need to operate within legally defined band plans, or radio frequency allocation guidelines. Emergency services, search and rescue, your nations military, all use specific radio bands given to them by the government. The license helps teach you how to avoid interfering with someone who can get you into serious trouble. It also helps keep you safe, and requires you to learn some basic electrical knowledge that frankly will be mildly useful the rest of your life. Amateur radio is a really fun skill that isn't that hard to learn. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask and if you want specific information about your countries licensing, Im happy to help look it up.

EDIT: Just to add, you can always listen without a license. That's why scanners exist, but you need a license once you hit the button to transmit on a ham radio frequency.

  • I use it for a lot, but one I haven't seen mentioned. I use it to support my ham radio hobby. I have a satellite tracker for when I want to contact radio sats, a solar weather app for checking HF propagation and I have echolink which let's me connect to hundreds of radio repeaters around the globe.

*HF = high frequency, its a section of radio frequencies that bounce off the atmosphere. Let's you talk worldwide if you have the right frequency and conditions. Solar weather significantly impacts how radio waves interact with the upper atmosphere.

  • Literally every part of this story being pushed by media is an obvious willful lie. They scoured the internet, could find no proof he ever said their bull shit lie. Now the story is suddenly, why won't he say these exact words that mean the same thing as a sentiment he already shared in this interview. You have to be such a gullible rube to fall for this crap. If the dude ever said anything like this, it would be playing non-stop on everything.

  • Treat people with love, respect and patience. For the vast majority, you won't get a second chance.
