  • I played RoR1 a couple years after release, RoR2 on release, and RoRR on release. I still like 1/Returns better than 2, but I like 2 as well. They are honestly pretty similar in gameplay, but I think the 2d style leaves a lot more room for boss moveset creativity.

  • How do you find out if you are a supertaster? I'm curious because growing up I couldn't stomach any vegetable that was bitter. Broccoli, brussel sprouts, celery, etc. were enough to make me gag just from the flavor. Nowadays, I can cope with the bitterness by focusing on other flavors and textures but I've definitely been in positions where I have a single bite of celery and then can't muster up the courage to eat for a solid hour.

  • I think they're asking because you can develop taste aversion by eating something and getting sick (even if the sickness is completely unrelated).

My sister got H1N1 when it was proliferating, and she had a box of nilla wafers before the symptoms started hitting hard. Now she inexplicably can't eat a single nilla wafer.

  • I think people underestimate the value of intertia in power generation. I liken it to the way capacitors regulate voltage changes or coilovers absorb bumps and vibrations.

The inertia of the generators connected to the grid helps stabilize frequency changes caused by blackouts, power plant issues, etc. by resisting and thereby slowing down frequency decline. It buys time for grid operators to find a way to balance loads in a way that doesn't weaken or disable the grid as a whole.

Here's a great NREL report explaining how this all works, and what other systems we use to stabilize grid frequency.

  • I always told people "definitely is spelled like infinitely, so just remember how to spell infinite"

But I suppose "finite" is even better than "infinite" since there's less to remember.

  • It's getting really fucking annoying to look at steam reviews and discussions and running across several "is it woke?" posts.

Often times, it will be "one black NPC in a historically white environment, one female in a combat position, it's been ruined by wokeness."

Or often "two non-essential NPCs are in a gay relationship, stay away" when they could be entirely avoided by accident.

    It's disappointing.

  • Hi Jeena, long time no see 👋

It certainly isn't because of Trump, but Yoon is really well known for the same sort of behavior. Covering up investigations, implementing reactionary (but overall pointless) policies, suing media for defamation, denying the existence of sexism, and all the other good stuff.

  • Running some random process introduced with Windows 11 that adds literally nothing to the users experience other than heat and fan noise

You forgot to mention how important and helpful the telemetry will be! /s
