  • I was thinking about Harry Mack, too. He just posted his 100th Omegle Bars video 5 days ago and said he was going to take a break from the series for a while.

  • I’ve had all the shots/boosters, switched from Moderna to Pfizer about halfway through. All Moderna shots hit me like a truck, and I’ve had zero symptoms other than a sore arm from any of my Pfizer shots.

  • I still haven’t had to update a Twitter logo on a website yet. We’ve had it come up for 3 clients so far, and they’ve all just decided to drop it. You love to see it.

  • I really don’t understand why everyone uses AI as a term to describe anything generated by a computer.

  • Rite Aid bought out our local pharmacy chain around Seattle (Bartell Drugs) a few years ago and it’s been a steady decline since. One of the two locations near me has closed down, and the one I go to has been more of a nightmare to deal with every time I go. I really need to get everything transferred over to CVS.

  • I ended up being one of those people who needs more numbing than normal people, which is not the most pleasant thing to learn during your vasectomy.

That said, even after 4 separate breaks to apply more lidocaine, I had a super smooth experience and was pain free after the first day. Had to force myself to take it easy for a week, and didn’t even need ibuprofen. Getting kicked in the nuts is way worse.

  • My pharmacy can’t even get Libre 3 sensors, so I’m stuck with Libre 2 and the software has been incredibly broken, even on iOS 16. 2-star review on the App Store.

Thankfully, my diabetes is managed well enough the alarms aren’t critical to me. But it’s really surprising how bad the software is for one of the most popular glucose monitors.

  • This could totally be cute with the right art style, but this art style will always scream boomer.

  • I like brewing Aeropress into a frothing pitcher. Super sturdy, always the exact right size, and the spout makes it easy to cleanly pour into other vessels (I make iced coffee in pint glasses often).

  • I wonder if there’s any point in our future where we decide it might be worth trying something other than geriatric white dudes in office.

  • I think they mean highlights/quotes. That’s what Readwise does, at least.

  • I’ve been really into their small lot coffee lately. It’s just as good as the crafty stuff around here (Seattle) and literally half the price.

  • They also recalled their instant cold brew coffee a few months ago because it might contain glass.

  • I usually just change “cloves” to “heads” and then the recipe is about right.

  • What changed after the switch? I kept subscribing since the music + YouTube video was well worth the value for me, and haven’t noticed a change.

  • Thanks for this heads up. Seems a lot of this issue will be solved by simply blocking OP.

  • Better check with a belly rub.

  • This is great, thank you!

  • So I’m totally new to federated apps and just joined the biggest one figuring it’d be the most reliable.

I understand the downside of all/local filtering being less useful on smaller instances, but I don’t use those anyway, so would be curious about a couple of things if anyone has advice:

    1. How would you go about choosing an instance assuming reliability/speed was all you cared about?
    2. Is there somehow a way to transfer the topics I subscribe to/content I’ve submitted to a new instance, or would I basically just be starting over if I switched?
  • Any incentive to stop supporting AMP sounds like a positive for the web to me.
