  • The point of walkable grocary shopping is that you don't have to get so much stuff at once. You just quickly go in on your way home get a few things ang then go home. That way you go grocery shopping more often, but it's not a trip anymore.

  • That's the point. Your life is good as long as you have money. The second you have even a small problem, like beeing unable to work for a year or two, you are doomed. That is something that people from most Europe countries don't have to worry about that much. Sure something like there would realy suck there too, but no matter what happens to you you can allways be sure to live a human worthy life. You get Healthcare no matter how little money you have. And if you realy have problems you get money for a place to live and food.

So no I don't think living in the US is better than living in Europe. It probably was in the past, but while European countries evolved the US stayed the same and is now in basic human rights mediocre at best.

  • I am vegetarian for over 5 years. You realy don't need any meat. That just some public believe the meat companies planted in our heads. For a vegetarian lifestyle your don't even have to pay attention to a lot of stuff. In general it's way more healthy if you do it right. The only thing is that it's usually harder to cook something tasty, because you can just throw meat in anything and it tastes like something.

  • But not in that quantity as we do today. In the past it was very special, because you allways had to kill one of your animals to eat some. And if you were a farmer who can decide to eat one big meal or ceep the animal and have milk for a long time its a preety easy decision.

And if you go back even more when humans were still "wild" meat was even harder to get. You had to hunt down an animal that was way stronger that you. So a hunt took days. If you got meat once every few weeks you were lucky.

  • The problem is that what they belive in is hundreds of years old. Back when all of that was written this was perfectly acceptable and in some cases even more humane than what was practiced at that time is. The problem is that the world changed a lot and what they belive in didn't.

  • And nowhere in your sentence is a real argument. Your just saying, all of this was here long before us, so its impossible for us to destroy it. An old tree was there long before me. It's still possible for me to destroy it.
