  • Just get rid of the charging stations. It’s ridiculous that EV owners should expect to charge their cars anywhere but at home or at work

why the hell is that ridiculous? People do go places other than home and work. People take road trips and vacations. Electric cars are a good thing, just because one particular brand is owned by a narcisist ruining the country.

  • I mean republicans I get. They don't want to appear disloyal to trump, and elon's threatening to oppose them. Democrats... what the hell is wrong with you guys... you already know trump finds you an enemy... why the hell make it easier

  • I'm sure some are... but I would say certainly seems to be a much larger percentage that prioritize their hatred of trans... and don't seem to do a lot of actual reach in protecting women.

Big thing is the terf label or stereotype is generally assumed to try to make it look like you are fighting for a group, rather than fighting against. Lets say hypothetically I'm claiming to be super in favor of protecting birds, and say that I hate wind farms because they kill birds

If you never once hear me talk about house cats, or poachers, or any of 500 other things that can kill birds, you'll pretty quickly catch on that I'm not actually pro-bird. Especially if I start reposting statistics about wind farms that have already been debunked etc...

  • Polygraphs terrify me, I've never had to do one, but I know I'm always holding in huge waves of anxiety and paranoia. Which you know is all lie detector tests do, is read signs of nervousness. Hence they have a high false positive amoung people who are anxious and are completely unable to detect anything on psychopaths and people with strong emotional control (as well as those who have learned tricks to game the system... (IE methods to make symptoms show stronger on the baseline questions so that you can lessen them on questions you are lying during).

  • One of the few things I actually believe musk was not lying when he said he was joking about it from the begining with no serious intents. IE his line saying "I have a move called the walrus where I just lie on top of my opponent and don't do anything". To me more or less backs the statement that he was just goofing around.

Very much unlike his Nazi rhetoric. Where every action he makes and everything he says seems to tell me he's politically aligned with the worse of white supremacists.

  • theyre infatuated with musk enough to do his criminal dirty work.

More importantly, I think musk did a background check with a reverse than normal intention. IE guy fired for illegally posting confidential secrets from his previous job... top of the list.

I don't think he was looking for just young and dumb... he was specifically looking for criminals.

  • What's more baffling to me, why the hell is it high up in the rankings on an app store? Are there that many wealthy people that have killed millions with pens? Least I thought apps were ranked by how many people use them rather than how much money they bring in). Plus you'd figure most the people in the budget to be hiring motorcades... would be better served hiring a few full time security guards.

  • Well I mean it's a combination of issues... IE yes drown yourself in overwhelming strong scents to attempt to cover up your stink (or simply because on it's own you think it's attractive, and the commercials said putting it on will send girls into attack mode).

Subtle deodorant is certainly better than natural BO (especially depending on hygine, and just some general body types etc...

  • In short... no, Lemmy developers believe the karma mechanics on reddit incentivize bad behavior. (IE making bots or even just yourself re-creating past succesful posts) or just posting the obvious ideas that one assumes everyone is going to upvote etc...

  • I mean... at least that's the part of the plan that they SHOULD have been doing for decades... back when the public option was killed from obamacare... no vote was ever heard, and the only person who they announced as the problem was Liberman.

I mean this strategy is just plain common sense that always SHOULD have been the norm. IMO I think half the reason for low information voters now... is that they basically allowed vote information to get muddled for decades. IE If a bill is overwhelmingly popular with the base, but can't break a fillibuster proof majority, the democrats just go "we don't have the votes, don't put it on the floor", when things do make the floor, we allow riders and compromises to make it so that both sides are attackable.

In short, they've allowed the voting record to become nearly useless to look at, practically never use it in their advertising on either front, and then allow a good chunk of bills that happen to basically be the "Save orphanages, and kick puppies" bill, so that no matter which way someone votes on it, an attack add can just cover the bad half of the bill and attack people for supporting it, or cover the good half and attack people for opposing it.

  • I mean, doesn't sound like the challange was the issue, it was actually being guilty of what he was accused of. I mean it could be horrible if AOC is doing something terrible in secret, but at least to my knowledge it's what she's accused of is what she's doing publicly (teaching people their rights).

  • I mean in short they are attempting the same gist... just, you know mainly in the form of all of them vying to be the all in one. After google's disasterus google plus... facebook implimenting threads and video hosting, they all are hoping to be a one stop shop.

  • It's effectively pre-order for DLC.

IE you pay us now... when we release the DLC you get it... If the DLC turns out to suck... well that's on you, if we release a different DLC then the one we announced, and delay or downgrade all the resources from the DLC we announced, sucks to be you etc....

Bottom line, at best it's kind of a kick starter done by companies with more than enough money to not need it.

  • The guard rails have been ropes with a polite "do not cross" sign for decades. Last 10 years the republicans have been jumping over them scribbling on everything... and the democrats are just going "they can't do that, the sign says don't cross".

  • Hate to say it, but I cannot find an alternate front end to it. There might be one, but documentation on it is pretty scarce, every tutorial I've ever seen has just told how to let nextcloud use it.
