  • Well yeah we only want the best and brightest... and what shows you are a succesful good economy building american more than not paying taxes.

    See that's the mistake we made... we arrested al capone for not paying his taxes... when in reality we should have made him president.

    Nah... second thought probably not, Capone opened soup kitchens... he'd be way too commie for modern politics.

  • or another stupid, but viable way to do it,

    if number = 0:

    return true

    runloop = true

    while runloop:

    if number > 0:

    number -= 2

    else:

    number += 2

    if number = 1:

    return false

    runloop = false

    if number = 2:

    return true

    runloop = false

    still very shitty amature coding, doesn't depend on modulos, or anything that I can think of that some languages might lack an equivelant of.

  • The idea there lol... sadly I think conservatives are more likely to be afraid of being though to be gay, than to be pedophiles.

    Hence the funniest way to bring them out might be if they are accused of having sex with of age people of the same sex... they could respond "no no really, I had sex with a 15 year old girl, I'm not gay".

  • I too think he will win... but I think it's going to shine a light on the democratic parties hypocrisy. We'll see more when the general goes into gear... But I think that some big names in the democratic party are going to either stay silent or flat out oppose Mamdami.

  • My point mainly is made half jokingly but, I will bet a significant portion of the democratic leadership that scolds progressives, blaming losses on people that even tried to fight in the primaries (IE say people who blamed Bernie on Hillary's defeat), will also be the ones saying "oh no this is serious... we should vote for coumo because he's the real democrat). Say people like Bill Clinton that endorsed him in the primaries.

  • OK so new solution idea... Zelensky, putin, whichever one of you buys the most trump coin, gets the US military backing you on your side of the war. at which point, it's over, this is so great such a good plan. They tell me, how did you come up with this, and I'm just a good negotiator.

  • currious of the chicken/egg scenerio when it comes to candidates on the ballot though. IE is there only one candidate in the primaries because no one is going to vote anyway, or is no one going to the primaries because only one person is on the ballot.

  • Well yeah sure if we were talking the obama admin you could have joked around with him... The idea that someone would be denied entrance to the US over a "thanks obama" sticker or something would be laughable and instantly condemned by the president himself if it were a public story.

    This is the trump admin though... they are thin skinned to insanity, they could never laugh at themselves, or find humor in something they disagreed with.

  • Exposed yes, but also noted almost all of them consider "exposed" as a fairly low bar as well. IE it's safe to say 99.999% of american's are exposed and chosing to reject.

    But yeah the general idea of making sure small niche tribes in affrica never hear it, seems like a good way to protect them.

    Same logic also could be applied to the idea that babies and kids under a certain age that die get a free trip to heaven. At which point the only logical conclusion is... a baby murderer is actually the most self sacrificing good human possible... such would be dooming himself to hell, while saving every baby he kills, self sacrifice is the greatest possible moral action. Why let babies grow up with the possibility they might reject god when they are old enough.

  • Honestly, a former evangelical, now a full on atheist, but I have to say, in a logical standpoint.. belief in hell, and belief that you should mind your own business, seem at odds in a general stance. If you literally believe your god, views non belief as such a crime, that anyone following it deserves to be tortured for all of eternity, it logically follows that you should do everything in your power to convince them otherwise.

    The concept of a you do you and not my problem is on par with say... being a die hard trump supporter, going out every week with "mass deportations now" signs. Then going out and grabbing a beer with your undocumented immigrant friends and saying to them "You're a cool guy, lets hang out until ice finds you and gives you what you deserve".

  • You know what would actually be a good loyalty test for these guys... just print out a bunch of the memes.. like the one that got a guy deported at the airport etc...

    Then give a really serious look dead in the eye... and hold them up one by one "DO YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY???". If the person cannot calmly say "No sir I do not find this amusing at all". Fire them.

    Some good examples to use

  • But if I was her, I’d sing like a songbird for any reasonable plea bargaining.

    Umm... ok not a huge expert on how the courts work... but is who she'd be bargaining with be under trumps control?, again not really sure the logistics... but if it's all federal employees under trumps control... couldn't they be saying "we'll go as light as humanly possible, but if you rat out trump... we'll hit you with everything the law allows".

  • Simple concept of nationalization/globalization. Honestly I would say records or whatever the first tool of pre-recorded music distribution came out that the game changed. IE if we want music somewhere... 99% of the time, hiring live musicians is a pretty silly excess, and well if you are using pre-recorded music, your local band needs to go toe to toe against big record labels... which have highly talented artists, the best marketing and production resources in the world, data driven approaches to attempt to pick the most likely to appeal to the broadest group of people possible etc...

    When it does come to live music... Generally speaking the people that do want it, are relatively low budget. If say you are running a bar, how much extra money would you anticipate live music from a relatively unknown band would bring you in a night. Most likely not much if any. On top of that a lot of people enjoy doing music, and there's just more musicians with pretty good talent, but lack of demand in places for them to go.
