  • It's great to quickly draw a diagram or something similar to explain something to someone. I could use pen and paper but I prefer doing it on my phone since it's already there. I don't do it daily but I enjoy having this option. When I was taking a break from the Galaxy Note lineup I was sorely missing it.

  • I'm on kbin, so tell me: do the images open on their own on Lemmy? If not, then it works like any link one might send, image or not image. The server always can see the IP address, as it was never meant to be secret. This also assumes the admins always use a single network with a single static IP address.

  • "Yes but actually no." If they can get a custom ROM flashed, yes. But it's very likely everything is just locked down, so it's not an option.

EDIT: According to the other comments even that might not help. YMMV

  • I can see where you are coming from, though I must disagree with the implementation of this system. Firstly, it's applying a de facto punishment without ever informing the target about them being punished in the first place. For all we know they might not even be aware they should refrain from certain behaviors. Secondly, they either did deserve a punishment or they didn't. It doesn't need to be a "ban or not ban" situation, I'm all for more nuance (a warning, a short-term ban, you get the idea), but we shouldn't just put anyone on probation just in case, just to observe them in isolation first.

  • Originally I didn't mind tying the comment to my identity, but once I decide to delete my account, I want all such ties gone. Case in point: links to open-source projects with my name in them.

"You shouldn't have posted it in the first place" is just victim blaming.

  • Unless we can agree on a definition of a victory, it's pointless to say whether they "won". For example as far as the FB users are concerned, FB might have won with Reddit ages ago.

We are here and I don't know about you but I'm glad to be here with you all.

  • Have you tried using Android 10 with gesture navigation and 3rd party launchers before? Maybe you just never had this combination of factors. It happens for all smartphone brands, it's a problem with Android 10 itself.

  • This is not Xiaomi's fault, it's Google's. It's the limitation of the gesture navigation in the older Android versions (Android 10 or so). Nothing Xiaomi can do about it on Android 10, even if they wanted. I'm not sure how much better it is these days, but I've heard now it can work with 3rd party launchers to some degree.

  • Oh, okay then. Your previous comment could be taken both ways: "I'm a system administrator (i.e. root)" and "I'm a system administrator (i.e. someone knowing their shit)"
