  • Obtaining it legally is one thing. Using it according to the license is at least just as important. Specifically if they trained it on content under GNU GPL or Creative Commons SA licenses, I'd like the result published under these licenses too.

  • Rather than relying on 3rd parties to make GUI’s the original developers should take the responsibility to provide a solid user interface.

The original developers are volunteers that made a tool they needed and shared it with the others of their own volition. They may or they may not make the effort to add anything extra on top of it. Demanding it from them is just unreasonable. If you don't like their gift to the community, you can provide your own, with blackjack and GUIs.

  • It seems we agree. In the hindsight: yes, it's a decent level. As an introduction: hell no. With player not knowing what to expect and with barely any character abilities it's one of the most confusing first levels I can recall.

  • Deus bloody Ex, the first one. Both the tutorial and the first mission are mostly useless and many players outright drop the game during the first mission. Afterwards the game shows its true colours, but the beginning is just rough.

  • Not an American here, so please correct me if my take is completely wrong. My understanding is that while the highs are possibly higher than in a lot of places, the lows are also much lower and possibly easier to reach. You could be doing perfectly fine one day, and then you get hit by a hospital bill ruining your life. It's surely a great place to be a billionaire or even just plainly well off. Except far too many people aren't and they would fare much better elsewhere.

  • The ads are not the true problem. The tracking and profiling is. They keep the rhetoric about the ads while forcing both. I'd be kinda okay with just untargeted ads. Maybe not fully okay but I'd be far more willing to tolerate them. This privacy violating thing the modern Internet made a norm? Hell no!

  • There will always be someone unhappy, but let's make them unhappy with mild annoyances and not serious privacy violations. I'd rather prefer the Whatsapp users to be unhappy than the Signal users. In a long run it's doing them a favor.
