  • Pooh: Eeyore why are you aways sad?

Eeyore: I have a nail in my ass.

    Pooh: Oh.

  • Personally my own line of thought is I wasn't a person until at a minimum the first bit of brain was there, and I want more research on consciousness to figure out how much it took for me to have a concept of "me", and I figure before that I was no more a person than my mom's liver is. But I recognize not everyone is going to agree with that. But if you think there is a person from the moment a unique dna sequence is formed, it is easy to see how you can have your perspectives on the subject of abortion. I may not agree, but I understand better.

  • reddit already censored all the times I said "elongated muskrat"

  • I don't buy physical objects and then agree to not own them. I don't even like that shit with digital goods. I don't need someones authorization to "allow" me to use what I buy as I see fit. If buying isn't owning than pirating isn't stealing.

  • I'm genuinely curious, when in development do you think consciousness begins?

For you, does this have anything to do with human life being special or sacred, or having a soul?

I'm not looking to mock or provoke, I'm just curious because I've seen people place importance on the life or dna of the fetus being human or importance on when the brain forms, or when the heart starts beating. People have a wide variety of opinions on both when life starts and on when personhood starts, and the criteria they use for each. I think discussing these things objectively could help reduce internet arguments on the topic, but only if people have good faith discussion. I realize that is tough to do these days.

  • Hello fellow boxes, my name is Eight.

    :(

  • I have no qaulm with voters, I hate that how the elected officials act!

do you not see a connection there?

  • I've felt more free to express my thinking here than I ever did elsewhere. Except for a tech focused one that I got dogpiled on by people arguing in bad faith about the crowdstrike fiasco.

  • need to make enough noise that even with reddit trying to supress it and deleting removing and shadown banning people still learn of the alternative.

  • I recal lots of joking about being paid by the word, even he himself made jokes about the length of his novels, when he was dying while trying to finish the last of the story he said Tor would have to invent a new binding method because he was going to fit it all into the last one, no matter what. Sadly he didn't have enough time but left enough worldbuilding behind.

I think they might have been some of my favorates in part because of the length tbh, I'm a very fast reader.

  • Lotr's time use and verbosity is nothing to me, I've read Robert Jordan's works.

  • I think this is the first time an opinion has triggered my gag reflex.

  • or better yet, no parties at all and force some of our morons to actually learn their candidates beyond just party lines.

  • I did, and I feel the need to remind you Rand Al'Thor had espisodes of insanity and a disembodied homicidal voice in his head. Sure he saved the world, but I wouldn't want to be there during one of his fits trusting him not to accidently explode me.
