I can’t help with model, but seeing HR at a glance is a game changer. Tracking workouts is what I ended up using it for the most. Well, and checking the time, using as a camera remote, and notifications.
The big differences are the screen and cameras. I get the pro because I love taking pictures and phone cameras are still so limited that any advantage at all is worth the price difference. Some people go pro for the slightly nicer screen.
But both will still easily last 3+ years. Future proofing is not a valid reason to go pro.
Reading comments here to find a better way, but we just walk or take a train or subway and get off and walk and see what we find. Talking to locals helps too, as they will tell us about places they are proud of and think we should see. We have stumbled on really cool places most tourist do not find or ended up riding paddle boats in a park. We do research ahead of time and have a list of places we do not want to miss.
This does not always work. Some places are too big and lack public transportation. We have had to return to a train station a get a cab to a local attraction (Dover, UK).
The goal of several of these new companies is to build small modular plants that are cookie cutter instead of individual boutique designs. That should bring cost down substantially.
The problem with these types of mandates is it locks us into standards and makes change hard. Imagine if they had done this when the terrible USB port was dominant.
Or, it gives all the power to the USB group. They have a terrible track record (USB-C is a mess).
The other problem is all the cheap devices that have a USB-C port, but will not charge from a real USB-C to USB-C cable. They are the same old USB ports electrically with a new shape.
Just stick with the big parks that take safety seriously. Disney has few extreme rides anyway, they lean more into experiences. For example, the main Star Wars ride is built around factory robots that follow a line in the floor with only a drop on the elevator. It is the best ride I have ever been on. Universal is full of extreme rides but they have a great safety record.
Likely, but I don’t think Tesla is advanced enough to have robo taxis yet?
