It's an issue with most if not all languages that aren't strongly typed.

If everybody suffers at the same time it kind of equals out. 401ks are typically based on market indexes, so with wages stagnating and markets slowing everybody loses. And if everybody loses, nobody loses.

There's a thing called lifestyle creep. You may not necessarily be living paycheck to paycheck on the bare minimum. Going out with friends, having the latest phone, having hobbies, if you cut out all fun you may be able to save up significantly. You can also live like a bum in the least accommodating space you can stand. Being comfortable is expensive, but not everybody wants to be uncomfortable for long stretches just to fuck off to the Bahamas for a month every few years. That or credit card debt.

Both are wrong. It would take much much more money, and the "vocal minority", the more visible homeless, are definitely unwell. That doesn't mean there's many times more normal people living on the street in need of help. Hasn't California alone spent over $20 billion trying to cure homelessness and they're kind of top of the heap thanks to their climate being conducive to outdoor living.

There is a severe lack of long term care facilities for the mentally ill. We just closed them down one day and threw the insane on the street. That's a huge part of the visible problem for sure. Not to say there aren't countless "homeless by circumstance" people that need housing. The "homeless by choice" is definitely a problem also.

Their base doesn't care. They move from topic to topic and focus on the latest outrage of the week. Just like everybody else. This is not exclusive to the conservatives, and pointing it out to anybody will not change their mind in the slightest.

I swear just a few years ago it was polar vortex this polar vortex that on the news everyday about the cold weather and I haven't heard it once this year.

It really seems like it's human nature to call out bullshit when you see it on your opposing side and then do mental gymnastics when it gets applied to you.

Just a bit more than "faster than the speed limit".
