  • I haven't watched TV in nearly 20 years, and it's still the first thing that pops in my head when a bunch of "maybe"s are listed off.

Now you get to suffer with me! :V

  • Morality is only made complex because humans like inserting their ego into things.

No, all morality is are the behaviours that benefit us as a social species, put to language and culture.

Why is rape bad? Theft bad? Indiscriminate killing bad? Because if we did these things we'd be unable to use our unique species' power to overcome hardships and thrive; creating and maintaining social groups that allow for the division of tasks.

  • And who are the sponsors that gladly endorse and fund the European alt-right? Why, it's American billionaires, of course.

At least Germany is in the process of lynching AfD.

  • Civilised doesn't have to mean flawless. The US is still a horribly barbaric country, and the weapons Israel use to commit genocide come from the US.

  • Yes, but he also programmed Jarvis... So...

  • What's his name from Multiverse of Madness would've been so much better as Richards. Why isn't it him in the movie?

  • If you're talking about modern body builders, yeah I'm with you.

You should see what Arnold looked like at his peak, and read his opinion on what body-building has become. He kinda shares your opinion.

  • I see a lot of drama here in the thread, people decrying data leaks, how Discord is very very bad, and a number of people wanting the "good old days" of forums.

Yes. I like forums too, but, uh...

These researchers scraped publicly posted messages. Keyword here being "public". How would anything similarly public, like a forum, be better?

I actually remember the times when forums were at their peak. I hung out on BZPower for Bionicle things, and the Relic News Forum for Homeworld modding. You know what they had? Google bots that scraped messages, looked for certain words, and populated websites with advertisements based on what it could scrape from forums.

Pretty sure Lemmy doesn't do encryption either, unless there's some very special, private Lemmy server that nobody has access to. So the researchers could've just as well scraped the fediverse.

  • But I want something like Discord. Just not corporate owned...

  • Yeah, so, you can still add "very" in front of all these words, so check-mate! :V

  • Sounds like projection. And a lack of comprehension.

    You're not worth it.

  • ... Can you at least try to read my previous comments?

If not, then you're just wasting my time.

  • You don't speak to people, and you're bad at reading comments.

    Alright then...

  • Bullshit, huh? You probably haven't talked to many Palestinians.

  • I'm not so sure. I've spoken with a lot of Arabs and Palestinians here in Copenhagen (talking to people has become part of my job, more or less), and the general idea seems to be that "from the river to the sea" means "the settlers (here meaning Israeli people) have to leave".

Sharing does not seem to be on the agenda at all.

  • Another comment on here talks about a flatpak. Maybe give that a try.

  • Hi. 3F Copenhagen member here. I believe the scaffolders club are organising something over a similar situation that is, however, less intrusive than yours. Your situation is like a horror story version of what the scaffolders are getting (GPS tracking, logging of their company vehicles. They don't have AI... Yet...).

Do you have a union you can turn to?

  • The fuck are you smoking? Never heard of a thermos can? Small carry bags to fit it and some lunch (sandwich, piece of fruit)?

Or has that become so foreign and alien to you that you just can't fathom how any of that is possible?
