  • They also aren't valuable for asking direct questions like this.

    There value comes in with call and response discussions. Being able to pair program and work through a problem for example. It isn't about it spitting out a working problem, but about it being able to assess a piece of information in a different way than you can, which creates a new analysis of the information.

    It's extraordinarily good at finding things you miss in text.

  • I think there is a fair balancing point between jumping on the newest release of an os, when you have an established workflow, and don't know about longevity (windows 8 had a shorter than normal support cycle) and holding on to an outdated os for ever and ever.

    I don't plan on switching to win 11 anytime soon, but I eventually will I'm sure.

  • Safety technology absolutely has not regressed, new cars are safer than ever, and generally make the roads safer by A) having more assists and alerts for drivers and B) having better crash structure resulting in less fatal accidents.

  • I know you didn't read the article, as per usual, since like the third line says this: "I’m mostly focused on the United States here, as FM radio access and laws vary from country to country. "

  • Android gives you very good control over notifications, from turning them off completely, to blocking certain ones at certain times.

    Notifications are hardly a problem for me anymore.

    And if you do get a stray unwelcome notification, just long press it and disable that type of notification from that app right there.
