Not to mention that amitheasshole is the biggest collection of validation seeking goobers on reddit. We really aren't better than redditors, we are the same people, we just have principles that led us to seek the same experience uncompromised elsewhere.

I definitely will hit up a randomizer when I revisit it again. One of my first thought after beating it was “I should find a randomizer and play again”

I can see that, especially with the early game when you don’t have heart containers and you don’t have the master sword either. No shame in playing with save states if you have access to switch online or an emulator.

I can see limited use for a land line if you changed your cell number and then only gave out the land line number to companies. There are probably cheaper ways utilizing Google voice numbers of protecting the privacy of your main cell number though.

I had an 11 year old account that I deleted all my old comments and posts from because of the API debacle. Does that make me selfish that I felt like Reddit wasn’t holding up its end of the unwritten agreement?

Reddit doesn’t deserve my content anymore than I deserve access from the third party API.

That’s one thing I always like about handheld games during that era especially the Zelda and Mario Land games. They weren’t under the thumb of the original developers that created the series so they were willing to take more risks.

I read in some interviews about the development of A Link to the Past they wanted to allow the player to map any item to either Y or B but Miyamoto made them change it back to just allowing an item equipped to Y and the sword always being equipped.

Link’s Awakening is next on my list, I’ve just started it and I’m looking forward to the rest of it!

I get your point, but where I don’t agree is that sideloading is more insecure than already exploited systems. What safety does disabling sideloading provide when the same user vulnerable users are able to be socially engineered to bypass several restrictions and install the test flight app or a management profile to give hackers control?

It’s not as if sideloading is going to be allow users to click a malicious ad that pops in at the last second where the real download button should be. It is going to behind the same multiple step processes that the current test flight or MDM vectors are

TestFlight isn’t the same as sideloading. And preventing sideloading has no effect on your IT illiterate relative handing over MDM control to a malicious actor.

Would you blame sideloading if your relative gave a random “fraud specialist” at their bank their online banking password and they had their bank account drained? That’s the essentially same kind of attack that happened here
