  • If you have issues with longevity you should focus on getting a new charger. Many chargeres over charge the batteries and completely ruins them. Do it once and they are ruined forever and they wont hold charge anymore. Take a look at lygte-info.dk (don't worry the site is in English) where he reviews chargers. I can recommend many of the xtar chargeres.

Direct link for comparison of chargeres. https://lygte-info.dk/info/roundCellChargerIndex%20UK.html

  • It's sadly not perfect as @Mananasi@feddit.nl also states, and since I like maths related stuff too and science it'll likely filter out too much stuff. But I appreciate your efforts. An ai algorithm or a community created blacklist is probably the only solution.

  • I have been wondering how I could do the same for X (formerly known as twitter). I'm tired of reading about it every day. I don't know how to filter it out since it's just one letter and it'll filter out everything just containing an X in a word

  • I don't use anything but water under my arms. I found that after a while my armpits stopped smelling as bad. Maybe I'm just lucky. It's all about bacteria. The sweat itself has no odor but the bacteria unde your arms feast on the sweat and starts producing smelly "farts". I found that over time I build up bacteria that doesn't smell and bacteria that actively remove any smel, so if I smell from stress sweat it'll dampen down quite a bit over the following hour or so. Treat your armpits like a sour dough in your fridge. It's a set of healthy bacteria you don't want to accidentally kill. Interesting enough if I use soap to wash every day my armpits starts smelling stronger again so for daily wash I basically just use a lot of water and rince each armpit for a solid 30 sec to a minute each rubbing with my hand. Soap kills the good bacteria too and makes it worse. If you use any only use a tiny little bit. I also found that shaving my armpits makes me smell so much more and it's uncomfortable too because I can feel the sweat drip down because it has nothing to cling too and cool you down which is exactly what it's ment to do, so I basically just let my hairs be and it helps me sweat less and smell less. I'm lucky I don't have that much hair but I'd assume it could be trimmed rather than shaved for many. There's a reason we have hairs under our arms and they do serve an Important function. For me gone are the days of yellowed t-shirts from deodorant and Gone are the days of allergy inducing perfume.

  • I have a raspberry pi with a cheap 5TB usb drive at my parents house that boots up once a week and pulls a backup. I use rsnapshot to create incremental updates that takes up every little space and is easy to manage. I have the drive accessible with smb should I ever need to pull a copy from there. It's super slow but that doesn't matter for an off-site backup and it is super cheap

Edit: I should maybe add for future readers that cheap does not mean cheap quality but cheap relative to the amount af TB you get per dollar. I use a WD shingled drive wich is quality drive but cheap and slow af. But it doesnt matter because the internet connection is the bottleneck anyway.

  • I guess it's time to just move on with your life if it comes to this

  • People might not agree but a prusa mini is a great reliable beginner machine but sadly way over budget. If you can find a secondhand prusa mk3 or mini within your budget I'd recommend that. They are very repairable and reliable and god for high pression prints. The best thing about a prusa is the huge amount of guides and resources online where you can find help for absolutely everything should you have problems. There's literally not a problem that has not already been described and solved on a prusa printer making it good for beginners. If you are going to make small high quality prints you should also buy a 0.25mm nozzle and you'd be amazed of how fine detail you can get (and long print time sadly, but no way around that)

  • Most ads are for products in another country so even if I hypothetically wanted it I can't get it so why waste my time on it. And if they are multinational companies I usually don't want anything to do with it. I also just don't want to be advertised to. It's wasting my time because 99.99% of the time it's irrelevant to me.

  • I've been ripe for testing nix out for a while now, and I'm super excited. I just don't have a machine to test it on first, and I absolutely hate dual booting. If I have energy one day maybe I'll setup a VM to test it out in. I'm really hopeful to have it as my main daily driver os especially for its portability and stability.

  • Also wanna add:

    1. Missing subtitles in the language you want (looking at you apple tv without English subtitles on local language movies.)
    2. Ads
    3. Only the 2 random seasons in the middle of a TV show are available. And new seasons not added.
    4. Ads

  • I always use it because the speedometer on my car shows way too much and is analog and I prefer a digital speedometer and that's available in the GPS. Also live traffic updates is a must in my city unles you want to get stuck for 30 minuts extra.

  • It's more like this: it feels like you are both the detective, the victim and the murdere

  • I love it. Ubuntu is already bloated enough and have been using the minimal install for a long time. It's actually better imo. because now the "minimal" version will hopefully include just a bit more so have to manually install a bit less. If I ever got lazy and took the full install I alway uninstall or remove the bloat from my sidebar as the first thing anyway. Hopefully this will strike a nice ballance instead

  • The reasons for shop lifting are many, but it usually boils down to needing money because their daily job isn't enough to get by and live a happy life. Or they can't get a job at all for one reason or another. Desperate people do desperate things.

  • True point. The whole scenario is written in such a bad way in the article its completely glossed over, and even I missed that fact. It just makes the whole mess even worse. It could have been anyone that got shot here just for being scared by threatening police officers who are escalating the situation

  • Just the fact she has to shoplift probably also means she has very little money or is struggling to get buy on her sallery. She's getting a baby soon and is maybe trying to save up because the US has no proper help to offer. Being shot and murdered by the police for a relatively harmles crime is beyond crazy for a society to accept. The policeman should be arrested for murder and abuse of power and Final put behind bars

  • Yeah assaulting someone using words can really hurt. The police suffered so much pain they had to protect themselves from this dangerous woman

    /s if anyone needs it
