  • People are saying manifest v2 (the old API that ublock uses) will be gone soon, which I think should effectively make ublock unusable whatever you do unless you stop updating chrome maybe (which could open you up to a ton of security issues) ? Not sure, don't care since I've ditched chrome long ago

  • Another good "trick" is waiting two weeks once you find the thing you "need" before actually buying it. If you forget or change your mind in these two weeks, you didn't need it that much. Plus it gives more time to think and potentially find a better product

  • Yeah I kinda adhere to the simulation thing too. As a videogames programmer, every time I try to learn about quantum mechanics I learn about some new quirk that really makes it sound like some game engine limitation

  • Thank you for this useful insight. What do I do when my eyes quickly adapt to this stupidly bright light in my peripheral vision and I now can't see anything in my own headlights ?

I have tried closing my left eye before, out of desperation. Doesn't really work and I wouldn't recommend losing depth perception while driving.

  • Not saying you're wrong in general but

if you need to stop on any kind of hill, you have to be aware your gonna need half a car length or more to get into gear where your just going to be falling down that hill while you convince yourself you don't need to panic and you will catch the gear before you're past the point of no return

My shitty Toyota Aygo has a hill start assist thing and it works very well. Basically when you release the brake at 0 km/h it holds it for a few seconds or until you reach the slip point of your first gear. Also handbrake start is right there in the OP, (and a mandatory part of drivers ed over here)
