  • By the time he finds it, he will be able to afford a Mars bar and maybe a can of pop to go with it.

  • There is nothing in this that reflects the title. It's nothing more than passive propaganda. They are relying on people to just read the title and not open the link.

    What is actually said is:

And let me just end by saying that this reflects the political reality that nations are sovereign. Nations decide themselves, and Ukraine has of course the right to decide its own path. And it's up to Ukraine and NATO Allies to decide when Ukraine becomes a member. Russia cannot veto membership for any sovereign independent state in Europe.

  • Polling is showing that this is not what the public want. The Tories are pushing it, but I think the success rate is very much more limited.

  • But we have a FPTP voting system. This means that we vote mostly for what we do not want over what we desire most. I too will have to pinch my nose and vote Labour next time out. They most definitely would not get that vote under a STV system.

  • Starmer will set up an inquiry and remove this scumbag if it is found to be true. It is a major problem that when we have so much money involved that there will always be corruption. It is a worry of mine that we will be giving so much power to Labour at the next election.

  • For all the guy is on my subscription watch list, I actually got the link from searching Youtube on information on RAAC. I have watched a few of his videos on other stuff. Hasn't disappointed me yet.

  • I am not an expert.

The guy in the video explained that the bar in the collapsed school was not rusted. The concrete had weakened or it was placed too close to the edge. This resulted in the bar being bent over at the ends. It seems the concrete is prone to failure in a few different ways. All of which stem from water damage from leaking above.

  • Everyone has bias built into their psyche. Anyone who says otherwise is lying.

  • It very much depends on the environment you work and what is the flavoured gripe of the month. I worked in a very much male dominated area, which was trying to introduce a balance. People being people we had many instances where there was instruction on how to behave. When working in such an area, you cannot help being defensive.

  • I really liked the idea of a flat design for schools as well. It makes a lot of sense.

  • I think one of things that would go along way, when it comes to gender, is to remove all gender from languages. There is literally no reason to use the pronoun he/she. If we want equality in all things then we should use the same language for all people. I have lost track in my life where hearing a pronoun changes how you react to someone. Hearing someone's partner has the same sex puts me straight into a mode where I really want to watch my P and Qs. To me this raises the question over how people are evaluated when it comes to jobs, or many other areas in life.

  • I have worked in the building trade as a much younger person in the 80's. I have a fair grasp of physics and chemistry. I consider myself to be halfway intelligent around most issues with buildings. I never built anything with RAAC.

I actually found this information much worse than the opinion I had before it. I wasn't aware of the sliding due to heat, or the extra stresses caused by bad fitment in the first place. I only found out last night that water makes the material crumbly (literally like the crumble on apple crumble). This really is a can of worms. I can only see this causing an accident. I am hoping they have removed all from working under this type of building material.

  • That would be an abomination. This clown has goaded people into doing something so stupid they will spend years in prison. The idea he can serve his sentence under house arrest at Mar-a-Lago is just wrong, really wrong.

  • Another Brexit benefit. International entry points with the EU are expensive to run as a 3rd country. Where as before it was just another stopping point, now it is a border control point.

  • The legacy he will leave behind is that every one will see him as a clown.

  • The extradition was not issued until after the WikiLeaks. Assange has always claimed he was given the leaks from manning. This is why the UK courts have an appeal against extradition order. It tells you this in the Wiki page on Assange. Assange is an arsehole, he has a history of hacking in the 90's. This doesn't mean he should be hounded by the richest in the world because they did not like what he said about them.

  • This must mean every newspaper is also the bad guy in Skyfall. What is the difference between the NYT doing this and Assange? And why should the consequences be different?

For a country that is ready to shoot their neighbour for the 1st amendment, it seems you only want that for yourselves.

  • With my Lemmy I only get to read the reply not the context. you can only imagine my thoughts when I read this.

  • At what point did I say this was only against one religion?

Israel has been and still running a campaign that has a detrimental result to anyone who is not part of their favoured religion. This may be to take advantage of land, resources or water. Some of it is just plain outright nastiness. But the bias has always been against none Israelis.

The guy in the podcast is literally telling you that there is a campaign against anyone who is not part of the right group. He is from Israel and taking an active role against this extremism. This is becoming more exacerbated with infighting of the Jewish community themselves. Netanyahu is listening to the more extremist factions of the Jewish religion and acting on it.

And many Israelis committing war crimes in the IOF are atheist.

Being atheist does not mean you cannot have a bias. What sort of a conclusion is this?
