  • Ding ding ding! Nailed it!

Well, my situation anyway. And now I’m looking at skipping multiple payments because my new (to me) car has multiple problems that can’t be babied along anymore.

  • And presumably if they're willing to take these risks, it's because the situation where they come from is even worse.

Just wanted to chime in that you are the only other person I’ve seen mention this. It’s like everyone just assumes people try and cross the border for the hell of it, but despite the barriers to doing so it ends up still being the best option for these people. Maybe we should look at fixing the root of the problem, as opposed to treating people like trash.

  • We’re rich!

  • Ah yes, I totally have the time to dedicate to each and every single one of these 'endless' experiences and an bottomless wallet chock full of cash whose only purpose is to be spent on cosmetic items that nobody but me will ever give two shits about.

  • Consider the average person's intelligence. Then realize half (or so) are stupider than that.

  • Always replace ‘The Economy’ with ‘Rich People’s Yacht Money’ and you’ve got your answer.

  • Water? I want a personal bathroom.

  • ‘Texas Government’ and ‘The Right Thing To Do’ are oxymorons.

  • Right, but it’s the kind of terrible that the GOP supposedly likes, but because they refuse to even associate with democrats much less work with them, they have a knee jerk response to anything they put forward. Nothing will get done in this country so long as the Republican Party has control over anything.

  • Just remember that cats don’t really learn from negative reinforcement. You’ve got to reward the behaviors you want from them with treats. They don’t have the cognition to associate punishment with the action they were just doing, they only see it as an attack of some kind.

  • Without the brain cell, the body contorts in all sorts of interesting ways in an attempt to find it.

  • I ditched Amazon because I worked for them for almost two years and saw how they treat people. They care about nothing other than making as much money as they can and spending as little as possible to do it. They work people to the bone because it’s cheaper to have them quit and just hire someone else than it is to keep ‘em around and have ‘em eventually ask for a raise.

  • I think in that case, no. ‘Style’ is one thing, directly using someone’s art in your own work is something else entirely. However, we’re talking about a person here, not a program developed by a company for the express purpose of making as much money as possible in the shortest amount of time. Until AI can truly demonstrate that it is truly thinking and not simply executing commands given, I don’t think the lines are blurred nearly enough to suggest that someone learning to paint and an AI trained on hundreds of thousands of pieces of art for the purpose of making money for the company that built it are remotely the same.

  • Using copyrighted material for something you aren't gonna make any money off of? Cool, go hog wild. If you're gonna use some music or art that you didn't make in something that will make you money, the folks that made whatever you used should get a cut. Not the whole cut, but a cut.
