[Serious] What keeps you sane in these troubling times?

  • Honestly, sticking my head in the sand in a way. I deleted all social media from my phone (minus Lemmy) and un-joined any news communities on here. I'm trying to keep my world smaller so I can stay sane and keep those dearest to me taken care of as best as I can.

    Honestly, it's worked a treat. I feel a little guilty for not rallying for the cause or keeping up with the world, but it's just too much.

  • Coloradans typically live a very active lifestyle. Outdoor recreation is a huge part of people's lives. Therefore they're moving a lot more and typically thinner

  • I've spent years and years looking for a good baseball hat with just the flag or a similar symbolism of the flag of Colorado. A hat that didn't have the brim already frayed or anything else stupid on it. It took so long. I've probably been looking for 10 years at this point and only just finally got one from someone else that I made look as well. Unfortunately the hat is super cheap in materials, but it is what it is.

    I can't even remember the name, but it felt like a lot of noise from an alley full of garbage cans. I don't know if I finished listening to it.

  • It probably wouldn't fit your thrash and death metal tastes, but sludge metal and doom metal are a lot less likely to have screaming or annoying vocals in them. I personally really don't like screaming even though I like metal, haha.

    Otherwise, acoustic metal is where you want to land. It can be hard to find in my experience, though.
