  • On my Galaxy after the update and after a set of photos blending my wifes chin into her neck, resulting in making her look like Beaker from the Muppets, I'm done with Samsung. I bought this phone for it's excellent camera capabilities, being happy to nurture my inner shutter bug, but Samsung seems to think we are all hapless idiots that can only accept perfect color matched, smooth skinned fakery. Convenience is king for most, but perhaps for me it's time for a new brand.

  • Are there any comments or thoughts on how effective vpn's are these days aside from curcumventing region restrictions? With fingerprinting and pixel tracking and more, are vpn's losing their standing as a modern day online security centric option?

  • Even though I am pretty privacy conscious the community that I live in has decided to get off WhatsApp, I did have my number associated with my account for the reasons of local communication. So yeah you are right that this was my fault to an extent.

Questions have mostly been similar to what you mentioned, although often said in ways to try to evoke answers that could prove their unfounded suspicions of some sort, but it was the temporary retention of my passport and been taken to a separate room that got tedious, especially when I was trying to make a connecting flight.

  • When I travel I generally delete all my social media apps off my phone and leave my laptop at home, this seems drastic and I actually think it's more trouble than it's worth to be honest. I have no past history of crimes, my politics are left leaning but I'm naturally curious about all branches of political leanings, religions and philosophies among other things. Oddly I have recently gotten off telegram and my instances of being questioned by the CBP (for no reason at all) have virtually stopped.

  • 100% agree, I love music and have been in the past passionate. I have gigs of old MP3's, tapes stacked in boxes and soft folders full of CD's. In my house I have easily more than a thousand vinyl records just sitting in their sleeves but today's music just doesn't do it for me. I think good music is out there to discover but it's just harder to find those gems these days. I blame many things but that's probably for another discussion, maybe I'm just getting old to be honest.
