Lord of the memes @midwest.social

Always Boromir

  • Well, you might have only 1 main client, but if that hardware fails and need to connect from a temporary client or after a fresh install you're out of your own server...

  • Regarding SSH Keys, I was wondering how you keep your key safe and potentially usable from another client?

  • Fixes IP for me, but I admit I don't have a lot of services to access to like OP does

  • localhost

    Why: for privacy/anonymity concerns

  • Q: Which Linux distro were you using?

A: right now, kickesure a Debian based distro focusing on security and privacy. Before that, used started with Knoppix and, mandrake and then many other Debian based distros (maontky Xubuntu and Mint)

Q: What feature or aspect made the experience stand out?

    A: smooth, stable, fast, secure

Q: Did it change the way you use Linux or tech in general?

A: not really but made me more interested in learning about my OS to serve my privacy better

  • Thanks m8, but where the heck do I find .i2p sites search engine or directory?

  • How do you get sites URL? I'm confused, there is no real search engine or crawler or directory... I was never able to surf i2p because I could not access any site... Any clue?

  • No one's asking to hack Wikileaks...

  • It seems you can only access the tip of the iceberg. If I'm wrong, can someone point out how to access to the whole archive's content?

  • That's what I thought indeed. I've read some articles lately that mentioned some content from Wikileaks and I'd be a happy camper if I could read that.

    How to access WikiLeaks data

  • Telegram has NEVER been safe and private.

  • AFAIK, only Joplin offers sync with NextCloud.

On mobile, sync works well, even with 2FA. But my access model is simple: 1/ create and edit notes on Desktop app 2/ read notes on Desktop and Mobile apps.

  • This looks cool, but can't beat Joplin. Accessing securely my notes on multiple devices I synced on my Nextcloud is priceless.

  • I'd suggest RawTherapee. It's in the spirit of Darktable but it's easier to use. More into on their website.

  • Pixel phone with GrapheneOS, it's an unbeatable solution. Rock solid, reliable, safe & secure and private. A lot of people mentioned Pixel 8 gen to be really with very long-term support (about 7 years if I not mistaken), so that's really worthy!

    Edit: typo

  • Chuck made a great video explaining that. If I remember well, he suggested 2 Wi-Fi, one to connect to the hotel Wi-Fi for example and the other to distribute a secure connection to your gears. I guess you can do the 2nd one through the Ethernet port of the Pi: here you go.

  • Nice survey, some funny questions too

  • This would make an awesome T-shirt logo!

OpenWRT on a Raspberry Pi, is this enough?
